They should run that retrospectively and weed out all the existing problems. By my calculations this would move me up to 2487th on my local climb If the leaderboards are already filled with eBikes and drives home then this won't really fix them. Still cool that it will prevent it going forward.

I got reseeded from 1E to & at the expo and now I'm starting to question my life decisions. This is either going to be epic or a massive fail. At the moment I'm leaning towards the latter. I've suddenly given up beer and have started eating salads in a desperate bid loose 250g between now and Sunday morning.

It's starting to get close now. Finish line barricades and seating has gone up and the sweepers are crawling down the Blue Route. Rode through Noordhoek on Sunday and the roadworks there are all good so there's no uneven sections in the road. Best bit is they haven't put down any cateyes yet so hopefully they keep it like that until next week.

According to the spreadsheet there's only 2 hubbers doing the double. Everybody must be waiting until the 11th hour before putting their name down.

I think I'll enter for the 2nd lap and then just wing it on the day. They really should keep the start for 2nd lap riders open until 10. The M3 is closed until 12h30 and everybody would catch those back markers before Bishops Court so it really doesn't make a difference.

1 more sleep until we get to see the Windguru forecast. So far it looks calm for way too long so we'll most likely have a repeat of the conditions from this Friday.

I like that start on the M3 idea. All the start chutes can stay as is and there's just one final pause on the M3 before each group gets sent on it's way.

It looks like they'll finish the roadworks in time. As part of this they've gotten rid of a dodgy island just after the Noordhoek turn so that looks a lot safer. That tarmac is sooooo nice to ride on as well. Whoever the contractor is, they should be appointed to resurface the entire route!

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight Just ride the roadie from now until race day and you should be good. Try take on similar descents to get your cornering dialed in until you feel comfortable. Not sure a MTB will get you out of any more incidents on the day. From what I've seen it either happens a couple of riders ahead of you, in which case you're stuffed, or more than that you'll get around it ok.

It would make sense for them to keep it open until 10. Anybody doing the second lap will catch the back of the field by Edinburgh Drive so it wont make a difference to the road closures etc.

I had the intention of doing 2 laps this year. One as a race and the second as a joll with some sort of charity drive attached to it. It seems though if you don't start in the first 5 groups or so then this is out of the question. The silly thing is that the main reason that this is ruled out is that the last start group isn't 10h00 like it used to be but 09h30 instead. I'm 1E and say we ride a 3h15 then I'll finish at 9h47. Add on 5 mins to get back to the start and it's already 9h52. (My auditor has verified these numbers) So I guess the efficiency of the new start area does come back to bite us in the end!

Same my side. It seems to keep my session until I browse from my home PC and have to login there. Then when I come back to my work PC I have to login there again.

I also didn't get the SMS. My money is on the fact that their account with the SMS provider ran out of credits
