  1. I'm 1,83m and loving the anthem 27.5. Great spec for well under 30k, almost full XT (baring FD & Shifters)
  2. Thanks, Interesting. Busy working my way through the thread.
  3. Jeff Volek interview...
  4. If you guys have a look at Dischem, they have coconut oil with the flavour removed (99%). Tastes much better.
  5. Anthem all the way. Got quoted 27K a few weeks ago for the anthem 27.5 1 http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/anthem.27.5.1/16923/71476/
  6. Have seen the viper, cant say that it grabs me though.
  7. Just want to get some opinions on this. The carbon version is 10-12k more expensive and I am wondering how much of that gets felt on the ride. I have only ever ridden an alu anthem and a carbon XTC. Speaking of the XTC, does anyone else seem to think that the pricing of the new 27.5 versions seem some what out of kilter when compared to the anthems and the 29er xtc??? Thoughts? I am deciding between the xtc, alu anthem and carbon anthem. Keen to try 27.5.
  8. Loving my new toy!!!!
  9. Giant All The way!!!!! 'nuff' said.
  10. Great, thanks. They could have just put x.0 on to save confusion like..... I have seen one or two connondales spec'd with the same.
  11. I am having a look at the spec of a scott scale 29 Pro. It lists the crank as a "Sram Carbon S-2210". Does anyone know what level of crank this is ? X.9 or x.0? I have a feeling its a x.0 but not sure. Thanks link: http://www.scott-sports.com/us_en/product/11258/63853/221721

  18. They mailed me the other day saying they will not ship mavic to South Africa.?? However Totalcycling will do but you have to return the wheels to them in case of warranty claim. Have not bought from them before though, any experiences with them???
  19. I saw in a mba mag not long ago that they make a stick-on crank cover that is supposed to be a solution for this???? will see if I can find details.
  20. if you set it on stiff then yes quite a bit. In propedal you will just see it move now and then on bumps. Open will be fully active all the time. Thats if you are sitting and pedaling.
  21. no, not suppose to lock. it has what they call pro pedal that can be set stiffer with the dial. If your pressure is correct the you can get the pro pedal pretty stiff ie. no3 on dial. and then full open which is what I do.
  22. they wont mind Red to much tho... cant rem price off hand, saw last on comobike.com
