  1. +1 And I did enjoy epic tale. More the story than the riding though.
  2. If I was in your position I would undoubtedly contact the guys from www.sciencetosport.com. It's Jeroen Swart and Mike Posthumus' and co's company. I've only bought a training programme from them, but they do offer coaching packages too. I've been very impressed with them!
  3. Or this!
  4. Awesome. My vote is in.
  5. Wow! That's really cool! Big up Try-Tri!
  6. Pitching up at a race with an empty bike rack. I had everything... but my bike. The question "where is your bike?" saw me backtrack through the entire parking area to the amusement of many. Got home, walked past my bike still waiting for me in the kitchen ready to be loaded, and got back in bed!
  7. This!
  8. Www.sciencetosport.com has event specific training programmes. I biught one for sani2c and I'm very impressed. Dr Jeroen and Dr Mike respond personally to any questions and offer great advice in addition to the programmd. Very highly recommended. These are the top coaches in the country!
  9. Where were you over December? Riding 7 bikes in a month. Sounds like fun!
  10. No sani talk since last year July. We should be ashamed! Anyway, looks like farmer glen is once again cooking up a storm! He tweeted the following: @farmer_glen: First clue of the new bridge for 2014 @sani2c_scoop. GPS co ordinates 29'57.10"24S 30'03'34.35"E. Google it. More clues 2 come. Follow here Following the coords takes you here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=-29.9583333,+030.0595417&hl=en&ll=-29.964602,30.062628&spn=0.022865,0.042272&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=42.631141,86.572266&t=h&z=15 Could we be looking at one of those awesome bush bridges? Can't wait!
  11. Looks like fun!
  12. Does anyone have a GPS file of a Harties ride?
  13. While we are on the subject; whose land is that? ARMSCOR? Doesn't look like it's being used at all anymore? Driving past their it does look like some awesome climbs and downhills!
  14. Ok, That's a lekker surprise! I'm one of the fools that actually snapped my frame. Met a guy at sani who also had exactly the same bike. He had some BB issue and then also got a warranty replacment.
  15. This pretty much sums it up...
  16. I saw a post from RE:CM somewhere saying that this will be her last race on skinny wheels for a while.
  17. If you're not riding that way, if you can give us a garmin file or something it will also help a lot!
  18. Exactly the same thing happened to me. Also riding a Mercury frame with the rest of the Moda hardware. Anyway, after my frame replacement rebuild my chain kept on breaking. As I bought the bike at Hot Spot Cycles I had to take it back there for the warranty replacment and rebuild. I went through three chains in a month and Hot Spot also blamed it on me and said the best they could do was give me discount on a new chain. After the second chain I had enough and took the bike to Cycle-fix where Magnus' first words were "If a new chain keeps on breaking, there's something wrong with your bike". The problem was with the alignment of the Front Derailleur. They fixed it and I haven't broken a chain since. Remember, the bike arrives at your LBS in a box. They still have to build it... which they can screw up pretty easily.
  19. This really sucks for Daryl, but that's racing. I have no doubt he's the best rider we have at the moment but Meintjies is a massive talent for the future! First over the line deserves it though. I feel for Daryl. Just to put yourself in the position to win the race after riding alone shows your class. Can't do much without a chain though.

    Cricket......

CSA is run by a bunch of idiots. How can that be a sound business decision? Press conference at 13:00. Would love to hear their excuse.
  21. Sauser knows how to pick partners. He's almost better with that than riding a bike. Love the Nino and Flippie partnership. They'd probably only go for stage wins though. Should make for some great racing!
  22. A pity though. Any news of them merging with one of the bigger race organisers? I'm sure Frits Pienaar or someone will pick this up and do an anual event there?
  23. I'd love to try one as well. I guess it very much depends on your pedal stroke as not many people (myself included) are able to put out consistent power through the entire pedal stroke. The premise makes a lot of sense. Give it a bash and let us know what you think.
  24. One of my biggest fears... Great, yet terrifying, read!
  25. I'm also in for this one. Haven't touched the road bike since 94. Looks like it'll be a nice ride!
