  1. Joined the Cannondale family for the first time this year. Old but new Scalpel. The missus' and my bikes:
  2. Incredibly sad. My deepest condolences to his friends and young family. RIP.
  3. There are no experts. That's the best advice I can give you. And be very wary of people offering advice... Fundamentally you need to decide whether you believe that a digital currency, administered through a decentralised network ensuring non-repudiated transactions, will become a sustainable, and widely adopted, currency in the future and invest based on that decision. I do not believe that Bitcoin is it but I do believe in the concept of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
  4. Flying out this afternoon. Rather nervous... Looks like good weather for the three days.
  5. It's getting close now. Nervously excited! Expecting three days in the pain cave. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. Looks pretty cool. Weird that it's not on the Advendurance website.
  7. Interesting graph...
  8. Went n on BTC and ETH in August. Bought a few XRPs a month or so ago. Still going well. The trick is to know when to take some profit and keep it in cash... to which I don't have the answer quite yet. It's all speculation, but some believe that it'll go both above $12k and below $5k before Christmas. We'll see. At this stage it's very much an investment vehicle with a high yield, thus the appeal and growth. It does need to become more mainstream as a method of exchange for it to become more sustainable IMHO.
  9. Was away with my family for the weekend to the Waterberg. Decided to do a quick spin on Sunday morning. Just an hour out and back or so on what seemed like an ordinary dirt road. Ended up spotting hippo, buffalo, Sable, Roan and much more whilst passing the game farms. What I expected to be an uneventful quick spin turned out to be a pretty incredible ride.
  10. Just activated my Multiply after years of being on Myriad. Never realised it could have some significant benefit. Hoping we could still get the possible 40% discount in 2018. Currently on Discovery Health and Vitality and playing with the idea of moving to Momentum for Health as well. Not overly thrilled with Discovery and Vitality's actual benefit is minimal at best.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I've been in that neck of the woods in December and have experienced the heat. I believe Feb is even hotter. Will be visiting Holla Trails in December which should also help for some heat conditioning. Different type of heat, but still... Been eyeing that Merino monster climb. It does look like a monster indeed.
  12. So we've entered the 2018 Tankwa Trek. Looks hard as nails. Eagerly, yet nervously, looking forward. Anyone out there that have done this? Any insights to share?
  13. JULLE MOET PASOP! HIER IS BAIE SKELMS HIER OP DIE NAAFLAND. GISTER N BOODSKAP ONTVANG VAN N OU PAARTJIE WAT NAAKTE FOTOS VAN HULSELF AAN ALMAL STUUR. CLOSE UPS VAN HAAR HANG TIETE EN SY GEPLOOIDE PEESTER. HULLE BIED OOK N IPHONE 7 AAN VIR SEKSUELE GUNSIES. PASOP, MOENIE DAARVOOR VAL NIE! DIT IS EINTLIK N IPHONE 5 EN DAAR MOET IETS FOUT WEES MET DIE DING WANT HY IS BAIE STADIG EN SY CAPS LOCK HAAK VAS.
  14. There's value in a universally accepted digital currency. Holding a currency in your wallet that you can use anywhere in the world. Germany has formally accepted Bitcoin as a digital currency, you can buy your train tickets in Swtizerland with Bitcoin, Pick 'n Pay is exploring the possibility locally, etc. The wider it is accepted the more valuable it will become. The main challenge is regulating it, as no one owns the currency, like the SARB owns the ZAR.
  15. Wonder when his case is now going to court. Like everything it's been dragging on for ages. Sure to be an interesting debacle.
  16. Werk gaan oor uitsette, oor resultate.
  18. It's a $200 mil fight, part of which was parading around the US and Europe and building hype. McGregor wasn't paid to box for 12 rounds, he was paid to be part of the biggest/most expensive fight boxing has ever seen, and that includes running your mouth at pressers and promotions across the world to get the maximum hype for this fight. Let's be honest, McGregor Mayweather fever resurrected the sport of boxing which was, and probably now again is, pretty much dead. When last did you wake up early on a Sunday morning for a boxing match? Yes, probably two and half years ago for the disappointing Mayweather Pacquiao fight. Before that, no one remembers. Conor McGregor's introduction to the boxing ring resurrected the sport of Boxing. Think of the millions of people who followed the pre-fight antics and the actual fight that have never watched a boxing match in their life. Most (and I include myself here) don't even know a name of a current boxer other than Mayweather and McGregor. My point is, all the big talk and hype prior to the fight worked like a charm. Colin McGregor resurrected the sport of boxing... all under the auspices of executive producer, Floyd Mayweather.
  19. Lag Ons Lekker. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  21. Ek ry die Nissan Roetesoeker Leeu Man bergfietsresies by die plek van die gespikkelde luiperd in die Noord Transvaal. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  22. Annual bump, in time for Friday. ;-)
  23. I've listened to the podcast twice already. (Hey, it's Friday!) He only mentions that he's riding Epic, not much more. It's a really cool podcast about them "dark" postal years though. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  24. I listened to the Armstrong podcast when he chatted to Hincapie, Van de velde and Dylan Casey. (I know, probably not the best admission to make on a Friday) They said there that George has been training more than some of the pros on his team. Apparently he's been putting in 24 hour weeks in the lead up. They're not just coming for the scenery. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  25. I'm not a roadie but I doubt there's been someone on the start line of the Epic with a palmares comparable to that of Rodriquez. Yup, they're all on the skinny wheels, but it still makes for impressive reading. (and yes I know Cuddles has the one Tour). I don't see them contesting for the leaders jersey or even a podium but I'm looking forward to seeing them race. Susi and Yaro must be the favorites. Yaro must be the strongest guy there... except for the fact there's someone in the field that has ridden Yaro off his wheel at most races they rode together last year. I know it's not the same, but if it's happened once... The question is can Stirneman keep up.
