  1. Sounds like a great match! I'm sure Max will be in shape. Those Colombians like them mountains...
  2. I've had mine for about a year and never had any issues. *touch wood* Still there on my wife's bike too. Will obviously be checking them this afternoon after reading this.
  3. Big H! A hub legend! Never a dull moment. We need to get him back! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  4. A thread on the hub debating Lance Armstrong in 2016. I'd never imagined. Can't wait for the wheel size threads to start again. It's like the good ol' days! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. Threads like this make me miss The Colonel. Remember him? I still remember the day he closed his account after the entire hub branded him a hater and a troll for being so adamant that Lance was doping.
  6. Also in for the Marathon in C. At the Lion Man they marked the last 10km with a board counting down the kms to go. If the distance is out, at least you'll know 10km before the end. Hoping that they do that again.
  7. Can she do the double and take the XCO title this weekend? Very likely. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  8. Wow, really awesome photos! A piece of trail that deserves respect. Great review! Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  9. I've only seen that Erik Kleinhans came in 29th. Didn't even know he was there. He complains that a bad seeding had him starting at the back with little room to pass. Robyn was not in the top 10. That much I know. Ariane was 4th. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  10. They say they've built a new trail that bypasses "Jou Baas" (that descent). Should still be fun. You're still at the top and need to get to the bottom. Guess they were tired of picking up broken collarbones... I see the event booklet has it at 993m of ascent. That's more than 500m less than last year, yet the profile looks very similar. Apparently some climbs in Segwati have been removed, but to lose 500m it's more than just a few.
  11. To be fair, that's almost a R10k difference, which is a rather substantial amount of money. It does look like a great bike though. The 2x11 is a great little addition and even late in the day, after a long hard ride, I never found myself searching for more gears. Also my first experience with the Fulcrum wheelset and I'm very impressed. Stiff and fast.
  12. My eldest has a muna pedal bike but still loves to grab my youngest's muna balance bike every chance be gets. Popping a wheelie! The munas are really cool little bikes. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  13. Picked mine up last week and it's a stunner! This was my exact thoughts "from the moment I hopped on it felt- stiff, light, agile and most importantly: fast." Took the bike for a baptism of fire to do the Buffelsdrift 100km Challenge for its first ride and it delivered in all aspects. Extremely efficient climber and fast and nimble through the tight stuff.
  14. He also had a great ride in Sabie early in the year where he got a podium spot. Looked to be in good form even if he was keeping a low profile. That's a strong men's field. We have to find a way to develop these guys to be internationally competitive. There's so much talent there.
  15. Luckily that is only outside Dikhololo. Inside the road is smooth and sandy, in places. Nice and flat for an easy ride.
  16. Ok, read it again to catch the brief mention. The river trail is an awesome section of trail, so it probably is the first logical spot to consider for Trail Daze, and they did cover it brilliantly. There is so much more though. Another stop would perhaps be warranted.
  17. Funny that they never mention Van Gaalens though. The River Trail is super awesome, but there is so much more superb trail there. Really awesome photos!
  18. Actually, the day I fell was the last ride I rode with that bike. It was a GT Avalanche so its days were numbered from the start. Still had good times on it though! I'm on bike #3 since that bike now. [emoji1]
  19. Some Throwback Thursday... The good ol' days.
  20. I always wonder why there is such a huge gap between our locals and the Europeans. A lot has to be down to just the 'genetic size of their engine' (for the lack of a better term), but I wonder how many do these sort of exercises. I'd be surprised if any of ours train at this level.
  21. Curious to see what Lakata and Heynek have brought to the party. Yesterday was never going to be their day, but I also didn't expect that sort of time from the Bulls. Should make for some thrilling racing.
  22. Must say, I'm a little worried about Arriane. I don't think she's where she was, comparatively, in previous years. Robyn has been smoking her in the lead up, which is unusual, with all due respect to Robyn. There were mentions of personal issues late last year, which I'm assuming included the search for a new sponsor, that has quite evidently affected her. On last year's form, we were in for a one horse race. That won't be the case this year.
