  1. Nice ride Covie! Many happy miles!
  2. I don't care about the language but please bring back the "ladies & bicycles" thread!
  3. Was looking for info on the fpc races and stumbled upon a thread on here. Was a really bad race with bad congestion and I signed up after the race to use my first post to flame Fritz Pienaar. Man, people did not appreciate that!
  4. Bibs all the way! I've got a pair of First Ascent, Specialized and Giordana. The Specialized and Giordana bibs rock. FA isn't terrible but doesn't compare to the other two. I hated how the normal short hooked on my seat every time I sat back down after getting out of the saddle. At the end of the day you spend more time puliing up your pants than doing anyhting else. Get a pair of bib shorts, you won't be sorry.
  5. UCI refuses Pegasus Sports license By: Cycling NewsPublished: December 20, 17:25, Updated: December 20, 18:15Edition:Second Edition Cycling News, Monday, December 20, 2010 Australian team fails to gain Pro Continental license The UCI announced today that it has refused to register the Australian team Pegasus Sports as a Professional Continental team. It also stated that it has now closed the registration for the first and second division teams. The announcement did not rule out the possibility that Pegasus Sports could be registered as a Continental team. Pegasus Sports signed a number of big name riders, most notably sprinters Robbie McEwen and Robert Hunter, and had been seeking a ProTeam license. It lost a major financial backer earlier this month, and scrambled to meet the UCI's deadline for a revised application. The management - who had told Cyclingnews that they had found a backer last week - have only been notified that the application has been refused and that reasons will be given in the coming days. “I know nothing more than what’s been announced. In the official communication to the team it was said that the reasons why they had been refused would be communicated within a few days. All they have for now is the decision," said Enrico Carpani from the UCI. The decision could see a raft of riders leave the team even if they reach Continental level. However according to Carpani the riders were free to find new squads as early as October. "The riders are free to sign for other teams. They were already free from the beginning of October when we published a list of the teams who had completed the UCI application. That was done in order to give the riders the chance to find another squad. The Pegasus riders were therefore theoretically free to change teams then," he said. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/uci-refuses-pegasus-sports-license
  6. That sucks! SA riders screwed! Any specific reason why they were refused? E&Y as always been bad news!
  7. SUPER HOT bike! Congrats Dangle, that really is something!
  8. I'm working from home... Just first have to get my heart rate going in order to ensure that I am most efficient when I get cracking with the work!
  9. I'll have a look at Groenies, on my way there now!
  10. Decided to give the Pave a go about 5 months back and I am really enjoying it. I love the fact that it is so narrow, like you said, no chafe issues. The saddle is specifically intended for riders doing less than 2500kms a year according to Fizik, and even though I'll probably do a bit more than that (not much more due to the fact that most of my riding during the week is done on a spinning bicycle) but this saddle fits me like a glove. Guess I was lucky as I took a chance and bought it on thehub and I'm really enjoying the saddle now. Also didn't take me that long to get used to it.
  11. That does look awesome!
  12. I have to do some "carbo loading" the night before! The only race of the year where I didn't have a couple of drinks the night before was the Fast & Furious and it was the worst race I've ever done. Or rather, the race was good, my legs weren't. But that is a mistake I won't make again! ever! Uhm, yes, it's obvious... there's something wrong with me!
  13. and his favourite food was those yummy spanish steaks! This is crazy! He can be the poster boy for HTFU!
  14. Did it Reg? Why past tense? Shouldn't it then be "It works for me"?
  15. Did the Rust de Winter MTB challenge! Man, what a ride! I almost didn't go after a stomach bug kept me in bed for two days last week but decided to go and make it a leisurely training ride. What awesome scenery and we had great fun on the rocky sections and fast sweeping downhills. So glad I decided to go, would've missed one of the best races of the year!
  16. Not sure but I'd really like to see it! Any help anyone?
  17. I've heard from a number of people that this works. One of my mates was cramping badly at the Argus MTB last year. The medics gave him coke and eno which sorted him out almost immediately. Another mate of mine believes in Rennies. I don't struggle with cramps so can't really speak from personal experience.
  18. I'm sorry, but I'm still hung up about all the cyclists on the highways. Went through Bloem a couple of weeks back and was shocked to see the amount of cyclists on the N1 ... and then they don't even stick to the left of the yellow line. It's the law of averages people. At some point someone is going to get hit, and at 120km/h you, as a cyclist, have absolutely no chance! Nice post kingcompass.
  19. Wow, cheap! That's weird because Mozam is more expensive than SA... and by quite a bit if I remember correctly.
  20. I'm no mechanic but according to popular opinion buying better quality diesel is beneficial to your engine and will give you many more kms in the long run. Better quality being 50 parts per liter Sulphur (50ppl). I go for this whenever available, problem is that not all petrol stations stock this.
  21. Ooooh! Awesome looking bike, but the Tall Boy still takes the cake! HOWEVER, I'm not picky! Any one of the two will do!
