  1. I have had three procedures all being the laminectomy and discectomy - no spinal fusions. First one on 1994 between L5 and S1, second in 2008 between L4 and L5 (right side) and the third in 2013 also between L4 and L5 but on the left side. All three instances resulting in excruciation referred leg pain owing to the sciatic nerve being pinched. All three procedures where successful....I just have a generic disc degeneration, which extends up into my neck. Critical to follow the recovery procedure and exercises spelled out by the physio and pretty much do nothing strenuous for the first 6 weeks, limit the amount of sitting, so I would basically stand or lie down. To date, I cannot complain about life afterwards, but I do take general caution.
  2. I just cannot bring myself to inverting my bike to fix a puncture….my saddle my shifter hoodies????

  4. Just to get a Cappuccino & Banana Bread….????
  5. I suspect you may need to revisit your eating habits, it is a lifestyle change, which is rewarding once into the "flow" but does present its challenges, especially under the current up & down of lock down levels and its concomitant stresses..!
  6. On the very first post there is a excel spreadsheet where you enter your "start" data, goal weight and a spot to enter results on the 1st day of each month.

  14. Breaking through and keeping below the 82kg mark remains a challenge. Feb & March not friendly work wise resulting in a lot of binge eating - slabs of chocolates and ice-cream - chasing down deadlines in the small hours of the morning . Lets see how April goes, by avoiding those pesky white candy coated chocolate Easter eggs mentioned above!
  15. First attempt successfully completed, leaving 36km for the last day allowed for a nice ride to Oudekraal ending the challenge on 546km, and two rest days amounting to more mileage covered in 8 days than I do in a good month - Tells me I need to have a goal, otherwise it is to easy to do skip a ride.
  16. Evil looks awesome.....Congrats! I too had a super experience dealing with Trail Tech Cycles.
  17. When "entering" that cycle path, coming from Big Bay side, I do so at the very last intersection the cycle path has with those residential entrances, leaving only the one at Atlantic Beach to navigate. Upon my return I generally keep on the cycle path, but feel a little less vulnerable/susceptible to those drivers as you have a little more time to see and react. In general, the the drivers seem to see straight through/past/over/under the cyclist, only looking for other vehicles at those intersections, which is sad, because that path can get very busy on good weather days!
  18. To Chapman’s Peak, with plenty other cyclist, runners, joggers and walkers...????
  19. Yowzers...I see you’re in Western Cape which mountain did you meet this guy on? I’ll be sure to give it a miss for now..

  21. Thanks Marick! The matchey matchey bits and bobs are Orange...
  22. Thanks Jako! Haven’t ridden her much as yet - 69km to be exact. Received it at a time when I was doing a little more road riding leading up to CTCT, then Covid-19 hit.
  23. Thanks Pikey! When I didn’t jump to buy yours, I had to build my own.
  24. Thanks TyronLab! The Orange started with the I9 wheelset, which was a Demo set. I am very happy with the end result. Edit....corrected a typo!
