  1. I'd feel sorry for the motorist involved in the accident. Imagine the cyclist is killed, even if you have done nothing wrong as the motorist it would be a burden you would have to live with for the rest of your life. I think most of the people who jump red lights and stop streets don't think the serious consciences their action could have and not just on them.
  2. That doesn't look like an Anthem....

    Yeti SB66 build

Like an hour to hour and a half. I've always drunk a lot while riding no matter how hard I try just always have had to drink more the most people

    Yeti SB66 build

The bottle cage position is far from perfect I know but don't really want to use a backpak for the short rides, will try find a black one though

    Yeti SB66 build

So here it is! Well almost, still waiting for a stem and the hubs, so got lent a wheel set and using an old stem. Still trying to dial in the suspension but from the short ride I did today this bike is awesome! Very fast, seems to roll over everything and take it all in its stride, very stable and just an awesome bike to ride. Will give some more feed back once I've done a few more rides!
  7. Which one is being sold for the same price as a complete bike in the US if you don't mind me asking?

  9. Doesn't look like there any problems at all with that! Looks like the ultimate build to me! Good luck, hope you enjoy it
  10. They probably put the water point on the hill as that's were people are going slow enough to grab a sachet or cup with out having to stop. I didn't do it this year so don't know if this is why case that's just how it's often done as long as it's not a very steep or technical hill
  11. I've just been kind of following in the background here and quite frankly you are being rediculous. Firstly if you only ever ride on roads with very low amounts of traffic then why are you making such a big deal out of this if it plays such an insignificant part in your riding( as you have stated)? If you looking for video evidence then of course you are going to find more of cyclists being hit from behind as, and I know this might came as a massive shock to you, but most cyclist do ride on the correct side if the road, shocker I know! I think the point of the article regarding the joggers, and this is what I took from it personally, is that if a jogger, who unless you are Danny MEGAskill is a lot more agile then a cyclist and has a much better chance of getting off the road quickly can not get out the way in time there is no way a cyclist could. Even if you saw the danger coming there would be very little you could do about it in time. Now I know you are going to rip what I have said to shreds but it's just my feelings towards the subject. So as long as it's not putting anyone else in danger ride on which ever side you feel is best and let the rest of us ride were we want, just be ready to face the legal concicuncis if it all ends in a horrible accident. I know you said to not think about the law but unfortunately it does play a significant role is some thing like this.
  12. I check the helmet but it just clipped the peak so there no visible damage to it. Will have to try work out the address cus I only know the house from the river side not the road
  13. Hi everyone Thought I would share a bit of an unpleasant experience I had on the Spruit yesterday. Was riding that peice of single track between Iona drive and the William Nicol just before 4pm yesterday. As I was riding along something started hitting the trees around me and clipped my helmet at very high speeds, I thought something had been kicked up by a lawn mower across the river but as I looked across I am 99% sure that I saw a man run into his house with a pellet gun. Don't want to cause to much panic as I can not be 100% sure that it was a pellet gun as it all happened very quickly but just wanted to warn others.
  14. I agree with you completely but with the pace technology changes in this sport they will be on training courses more then in the shop!

    Berg and Bush 2013

I thought it was awesome! Sollie really made me laugh with some of his comments
  16. If you are going to be riding mainly on the road I'd say it's defiantly worth it!
  17. Ya those are the even newer ones! Magnesium calipers, even lighter now! But did result in a loss of that shine!
  18. The XTR's have a much "smoother"(probably not the right word completely but it'll do) feel to them and are obviously quite a bit lighter! But most importantly they are more shiny!! ;D
  19. The alu SB66 is defiantly around the 18 mark, it's the carbon SB95 that is 30 . That's for the frame obviously
  20. I'm looking for a bit of help from the enduro experts! I'm looking at building up an enduro type bike, I have a pair of mavic cross trails(2010) that are not really being used. Just wondering if u think these will be to weak for what I'm looking for (rock gardens, jumps etc) I'm a resionably light but do ride quite aggressively, do you think these will hold up? And also if anyone one knows if they can be converted to 15mm up front ans 142x12mm at the back? They are currently 9mm. Thanks!

    Berg and Bush 2013

Was an awesome event! Day one was really tough with all that mud, wheels seized up completly! But today was honestly the best day I have ever had on a bike! Super trails super event!
  22. Morningside Cyles for sure!
  23. I've got the Scale Pro(2012) my freewheel body packed up completely during Sabie this year, resulted in a lot of running, opened up the hub and found the worst quality paw system I have ever seen! Not the rachet system that the hub is labbeled with! Anyone else had any problems or is this a once off issue?
  24. that's a completely different thing! It makes it so much safer, what is someone completely new to the sport falls trying to bunny hop the pavement and does quite make it the rider and everyone behind can get stuck in the middle of a very busy road! And there pipes running under them so the gutters aren't ruined at all. P.S. I did not build them or know who did just see their value
