The fact is that if J&J is selling the samples to the bike shops and they are putting a mark up on it selling it as a legitimate product then they really arent to blame are they? i agree totaly when you say that it doesnt matter if its R20 or R20000 the fact of the matter is i dont know if this is general practice selling these samples or if it is just this one specific bikeshop, i dont deal with them often so i cant really comment on their everyday service and or reputation, so for me to come here and tarnish their name without having all the details is not fair in my opinion, the reason i placed this post was to get the opinion of my fellow hubbers on if this is ethical behaviour or not, by the reaction i gathered that it is not, i would love to sit here and Flame Northcliff cycles for this matter but as i have said bfore i cannot comment on wether this is an isolated incidence or if this is a general occurance

did you manage to speak to the LBS that sold you the Chamois cream Iron?

i dont like naming and shaming without knowing all the facts but regardless if they are paying for the samples or not, i think people should know where this stuff was bought! it would be very interesting to see if Iron bought from the same company. if he is willing to share with us i will name the LBS if its not the same shop

i was actually thinking of contacting Assos but if J&J are selling the samples then the LBS isnt the one at fault! and if J&J are the local agents then the only thing one could do is contact Assos overseas

this has really p!@#$ me off! after the amount of money most of us spend at our LBS then we still get ripped off like this for R20

just been to a LBS to buy some chamois cream. i get told that they only have the small tubes of ASSOS selling for R20 each so i bought a couple to see me through for a while, so i just get back to the office and im looking at the little tube and notice "SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE" on the side of the tub! what you guys think? you think its ethical to be selling sample products? must be honest i think this is #@#!$ nonsense!

If your ankle is hurting from kicking while swimming try using a pull bouy that you clamp between your legs! it keeps your legs stationary but you can still get the full benefit from the cardio workout and it helps with your technique too

from personal experience its just a matter of time before you have to have it surgically fixed, torn ligaments dont heal themselves and stretched ligaments leave you with what they call an unstable joint meaning that it dislocates easily! take it from me !! have it fixed now because the longer you wait the bigger the procedure becomes. i started out with an unstable shoulder and landed up with having a slap lesion, subscapularus tear and a rotator cuff being repaired. a shoulder op is not easy as the recovery takes a long time another word of advise is if you have it fixed go to Dr Thys Debeer in pretoria he is the best shoulder doc in the country if you need his info pm me and i will give you his contact info
