  1. Yeah just run them at the same pressure he did and you to can have loads of flats just like him 🤣 I like him he is a great rider and person (met the team on trails) but riding in Stellenbosch and surrounding on 1 and 1.25bar pressure is not the best decision.
  2. I'm running Rekon and Rekon race it's a great combo for me. Fast rolling and grips well. Ardent race in 2.35 is good for front and rear. My boet is on crossmark (came on new bike) before riding the bike he wanted to change the tyre's but so far he is really happy with them. If you want to be like Niño I have a new set of 2.4wt Aspin at a 2 for 1 price if interested 😁
  3. New trails at Rhebokskloof are great fun just prepare yourself for some decent climbing but it's worth it. Yesterday's little bit of rain made the trails perfect 👌🏻 Not sure how accurate the elevation is on the Garmin it is supposed to be only 1000m over the +-28km.
  4. If you don't find some at your local bike shop you can bring it to my workshop in Brackenfell sure I'll have a drill bit 14.5mm. You won't find a 15mm washer as it's not a standard size. PS. It's going to be hell of expensive washers if you have it Lazer cut.
  5. It feels better than the 120mm 32 fox it replaced in. It's less flexi under braking, steering feels faster somehow if that makes sense, but how this thing sucks up the trails is next level even compared to the Kashima I had on my previous bike. Luckily I did not pay anything close to it's new price. Main reason I changed was for the look 😁
  6. Made new alxe/end caps and spacer for the disc. Even little bigger than the predictive hub so wheel stays in place even if I remove the forks alxe/QR.
  7. Wanted to change the look of my bike and then this RS1 fell into my lap 😊 120mm travel (don't think I would go shorter) . I was really surprised how great this fork feels on the trails. little bit of engineering work done because I did not want odd hubs or be tied down to a specific fork/hub. PS. It needs some custom decals.
  8. Always fun riding something I have not before and if the weather is as good as it was today it just puts a cherry on top.
  9. Send me a pm to arrange collection. I'm in northern suburbs Cape Town.
  10. The tops are for the big guys (XXL) Not used a lot still in good condition. Tyres are all 29er, Maxxis Ardent 29x2.25(new) , Maxxis sphinx 29x2.1(x2 used) and a Kenda Small Block eight 29x2.2(new) Not tubeless Free to anyone who needs it.
  11. So what you are saying is it's time for a new bike 🤣
  12. Fun morning out in Darling with some mechanical fun trail side, first time I see someone nearly lose a shifter 🙃
  13. Treated my old girl to some new bits. She is a real soldier, never complaining and minimum running cost. New brake levers, rotors and dropper lever. (Most of these did not need replacing but when has that ever stopped us 😁) Playing with the idea of a SID 35 120MM and maybe carbon rims, I'm just worried it will spoil the ride.
  14. Oh thank you, your replies so made this day better 😂🤣
  15. What a lekker weekend of riding. Sundays weather was perfect 👌🏻 And of course no ride is complete without a cake and coffee stop and ending with a cold beer 🍻
  16. My 165's has followed me form bike to bike. They are so hard to find. Hope it works for you 👍🏼
  17. Where did I say these are Mickey mouse?? Obviously they are well prepared, obviously they are on the same level... All I said was just think what they could have done with the same backup.
  18. I wasn't talking about sitting comfortably, I was saying just imagine in this race if they had mechanics, dietician and support so they only had to worry about racing and not who's going to fix the bikes what are they going to eat and all the other jazz...
  19. After starting to follow their story for a couple days I was already impressed that they were in the top 3. After what they achieved the past 2 days being privateers with no backup I am so happy for them I'm not even sad that "my" guy's had so much bad luck 👌🏻 Just imagine what they will achieve with the support from a team like Spez or Scott.
  20. 650b in front and the fattest rubber you can fit in the rear will make the wheel size difference small enough to almost not notice. Just keep in mind that every bit you lift in the front slackens the seat tube putting your weight more over the rear which could affect climbing.
  23. You offering a sponsor bike? 😁
  24. Even with the wind trying to break us yesterday it was still a fun loop. First stop was Philadelphia for breakfast, then into the wind Melkbosstrand along the sea to Blue Peter for the first beer and Bloemendal for the next one. From brave to dead after the wind 🤣 but the beer gave me life to reach home again 😁
