  1. Hi I'm not 100% sure on the value but I'm interested in the wheels, fork and brakes. Drop me a pm with the amount you have in mind for each and maybe we can work something out 😎
  2. In that budget I would look at something like a momsen 529 or merida XT EDITION of around 2015/16 model as they have good parts and fork and usually for sale around the R10k.
  3. Don't follow your GPS it will take you on a long detour to nowhere. Take the Kylemore turn of and stay left till you see the parking lot.
  4. CBR D'ville, excellent job, they just got loads of awesome new colors and back in your hands within 2 weeks. Have used them for repairs, respray, custom decals and bought a frame from them which they refreshed. Always more than pleased with the quality of the work and have never waited more than 10 working days.
  5. Lekker ride na 'n wilde week...
  6. Ek gaan met my fiets winkel toe, ek vat dit net saam met my in dis kleiner as 'n trolley. ???? Ja kyk die regte ???? hier is die 1 wat staan en kyk hoe hy die fiets steel...
  7. Markings not great, we went exploring. Wanted to go around the dam as the map suggests but unless you can swim we could not see how to go all the way around. The trails on the side we were you could follow the contours up and down but it's real mountain biking little dodgy at times but fun. I wish I knew how to share the strava or garmin link on here maar, my kop is bietjie plat ???? if this ???? doesn't work send me a pm. Check out my activity on Strava: https://strava.app.link/ubeicL0jRkb
  8. Someone said something about Franschhoek trails so had to go and explore.
  9. Still safe to ride. I guess it has seen very little use over that time.
  10. Good things are worth waiting for... ???? I have seen the new Orbea bikes at cwc even their e-bike looks great, best looking e-bike to me. I would wait for the Oiz if you have a bike currently because they look great and it's not something you see everywhere.
  11. You know Vasbyt has a different meaning than biting the trail ???? I like hearing stories like this, not always about getting hurt but how strangers are still willing to help and care about each other. ???????? Hope you have a speedy recovery.
  12. R200 for a entry is cheap (unless it's for a 5km race ????) Events prices as with everything else these days have skyrocketed. I like to ride events that have unique/special trails something that you just can't go and ride (like Piket-bo-berg) So I like to have something to remember that by. I have a little display in the bike/gym room and it's lekker to look at thinking of how fun it was or how close to dying I felt ????
  13. O yes the only good thing about the elections is everyone running around to look good and useful. As someone said, "I can smell fresh tar and t-shirts it must be election time". ????
  14. Yes there was nothing between the rear axle and frame. That's a pity because it was a fun bike with the 650b wheels.
  15. Nope just fitted like it was made for it. Not sure if frame size would matter the rear triangle is usually the same size?
  16. I run my old rush size large with 27.5 x 2.35 nobby nics on the back with no issues. Just saying.
  18. They won't see me anytime soon again. Used to love just riding to there for something to munch and drink but, the last time we were there gate opened as we were approaching no car in sight so we headed to the restaurant like always. Sitting having a beer right at the front door (to keep an eye on the bikes) when this little @#&* security comes up to me screaming at me going completely ape ???? even saying we were hiding (at the front door not to good at hide and seek I guess) when I kind of lost my cool got up and he saw in my friendly expression its time to run away. Talk about unprofessional, if he approached me in a decent manner it would have been a completely different thing. Still don't know what the issue was...
  19. Or maybe the pressure is a little low. I fitted a new Lyne dropper and for the first couple of rides it worked great and about a month later it did not want to extend all the way. Opened, cleaned and new sram butter it worked better but not great. Checked pressure and it was 140psi so pumped up to 280psi (says 280-300psi) and it's back better than before.
  20. The issue with welding is bicycle frames are not pure aluminum it's always some sort of "mix". We welded a frame of mine to see how it would hold up. Where the weld broke is not an issue because there is enough material there to weld but the other crank the tube is so thin you have a good chance of just burning it away.
  21. Lekker ride for the soul. Weather was perfect and first time riding with some tunes (amazed the speaker is still there ????)
  22. I opened, cleaned and applied fresh sram butter after my first couple of rides and added pressure it's much better now. I also like the return speed now it's much faster ???????? have also had the Fox transfer Kashima and Rockshox Reverb stealth and all of them had play. I would say Rockshox the least amount and Fox with the smoothest action but neither justify the price difference.
  23. Jonkershoek altyd 'n blast. Lekker om 1 van die hubbers raak te ry. @Patensie
  24. Just a question why not have Mercer build you a custom gravel frame? His frames are artwork, he's a local so no stress about customs and one hell of a nice guy. Just a thought, because at around the same price I would rather have something special than something anyone could have just taken off the shelf.
  25. I love these frames they just look so good to me ????????
