  1. Last weekends play date at Banhoek. The trails there are unbelievable had to ride everything at least twice.
  2. All around the rain. Could not be luckier, wind got a little nasty the last 20-30km but did not have one bit of rain. PS. Out of 5 guys out we were only 2 to complete the whole ride and miss the rain so I'd definitely say lucky ????.
  3. Running 29mm (Flow) wheels, great ride but nothing under high volume 2.25 otherwise it's to square and you lose all of the "advantage".
  4. ons het vandag by Bloemendal op Lombards 'n slang gemis met millimeters, hy/sy was besig om die trail te kruis. Lang vet 1 seker 'n mol slang maar op daai stadium het dit nie saak gemaak.
  5. Hey boet that seat is mos broken, there's a moosa stuk missing ????
  6. This must have been some serious gram counting. To the guys saying Ja it's just expensive parts put on a frame hahaha. Have you ever built a light bike? I have tried a couple of times and the lightest one was a FSI with everything carbon and xx1 and that with light tyres was just below 9kg including pedals and cage. So to get a dual sub 8kg is witchcraft to me.
  7. OK might not have been on wheels. It would have been challenging thou 10km and 500m elevation which is more elevation then the manne in the Vrystaat get over 100km ????????
  8. buy another bike and tell your wife you bought it for her so she can join you as you want to spend more time with her.????
  9. Working/playing on some of my weak points. Some of the laaities hit those big drops like it's nothing. Me I had to work up to this one and looking at the photo non of them look that scary but when you are there it's a little different.
  10. I am guessing that the weights you give are based on what the manufacturer says? 9.4kg ride ready is seriously light! Top spec dual-suspension-bikes generally with pedals and sealant actual weight around 10kg. Riding buddy has a 2020 top fuel 9.8 and it feels really heavy compared to my nearly 11kg bike I would guess 12kg+ ride ready. As for the price yes it's steep but you are paying for geek levels of engineering/design. Having someone like Fox design a completely new shock for you will also not be a cheap venture. I do like the top fuel and Trek suspension design does not waste to much power but if I could have anyone of the 2 I would take the supercaliber.
  11. jealously makes you nasty ????????
  12. Looks like my day was turned upside down for some reason ????????
  13. Is there a better way to end a successful Monday.
  14. This mornings ride had I bit of everything. Trail maintenance, tree climbing, hiking and even a little bit of riding ????????
  15. I am running Ikon 2.35 front and Rekon Race 2.25 rear. I like the size the Ikon measured 62mm so over 2.4. Combo rolls really fast and grip has been great. I have only been astonished by the side walls strength, this past weekend I hit a sharp rock so hard/loud coming down Black Rhino my boet thought it was him, I was waiting for that unmistakable sound of a snakebite but it never came. Stopped at the bottom and I could see on the rim where I hit it but nothing on the tyre.
  16. On the way to the trails today at 15h00 nice, clear, sunny and the other 16h50 we were soaked in seconds. Got to love Cape Town ????
  17. Finished this one today for my boet and obviously had to go for a test ride ???? bike came out nice and light and a decent spec (SID rlc, XT 1x11, ecc hubs and carbon bar and seat post) only thing he disliked was the seat so anybody looking for a power saddle copy let me know. Only thing with the Rockshox is that pushloc probably the most unreliable lockout lever so I stripped it and reworked it and now it works first time every time. PS. The name means beast or savage fitting of the rider ????
  18. First ride out on my bike since I finished her and she did not disappoint ???? great to be able to have our post ride beer ????
  19. 120mm Fox with some custom decals from CBR, Flow wheels built by Knipe Racing with Pillar racing double butted spokes and Hope Pro 4 hubs. She is finally done and I could not be happier ????
  20. Could not have asked for better day to ride! On the HT with the gravel bikes to push my legs/body to it's limit. Overall I think it's not a bad ride for a weekend warrior ????
  21. Good weather, great trails, awesome people = memorable weekend.
  22. I would have this bike just to hang in my bike room to look at. ????
  23. Great morning out! Near perfect weather with one or two swimming holes we needed to navigate. Talking about navigation mine let us down with a little detour. The red line is where we should have gone ????
