  1. Chainsuck is all about your chain and your chainrings being too friendly with one another. So what chain are you running, and what condition is it? And what chainrings and what are their condition?
  2. "Don't worry, I fixed that big hole in the first corner. Just go for it!"
  3. Now now, don't get too carried away there!
  4. Its funny I know, but it also says something about how capable today's "trail" bikes are (excluding the fact that Graves is an animal).
  5. Update from Graves on Twitter: #sb66c 3rd fastest DH bike in the world toay, but wait....it climbs too!! #yeticyeles #1bikequiver
  6. I agree, except for the fact that Ropelato is up there. I think it *is* making a difference for him.

  8. You building a tandem??
  9. Here's your body armour. Stay away from magnets though. http://www.lifeinthefastlane.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/body_armor_dog_1.jpg
  10. If you're getting a new shock as part of the new frame, then surely the old shock should go back with the old frame??
  11. I wouldn't choose the dual sus for "fun factor", but because its comfier over longer distances, and gives you some margin for error when you get tired.
  12. These are both XC race bikes suited to flat-out lap racing. Why not get a bike better suited to marathon and weekend-warrioring? The Specialized Epic and Camber, or Cannondale Scalpel and Trigger might be more worth looking at?
  13. NS Snabb http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p6pb10027850/p5pb10027850.jpg
  14. Ahem. Half of that is cowshit, not mud
  15. Sadly other items have consumed my 2014 holiday budget, but hopefully I can make 2015.
  16. Passport renewals are relatively quick these days. My last one took 2 weeks. Ha. Snap.
  17. The algorithm weights short hard efforts as worth more than what an average would. So in a race you'd likely see a big difference between the two, versus a training ride with long intervals where they'd be quite close. The theory is that normalized power is a better reflection of the the physiological impact on your body.
  18. This was one of the things the creators of the Enduro World Series wanted to get away from. Their "world enduro champion" is the winner of the series. Which makes more sense I think.
  19. Not quite. Here's the normalized power definition from the horse's mouth: http://home.trainingpeaks.com/articles/cycling/normalized-power,-intensity-factor,-training-stress-score.aspx
  20. I remember an interview with one of the DH contenders, and them saying that in world cup events they don't give it 100%, as they need to stay injury free and don't want to risk it all. Whereas at world champs they let it all hang out since second place means nothing.
  21. July is also school holidays and there are little frenchies everywhere. Not a good time to visit France.
  22. Not sure if they're the same, but the SRAM PF30 bearings on my Mtb lasted all of 1200k's before they seized up completely. I'm going to order the Chris King ones to replace the current set unless anyone has a better suggestion.
  23. DHL has gone to the dogs. The fees have gone up ridiculously, and the last two times they cocked up the pre-clearance and I ended up waiting a week while DHL sorted out their stuff-up with customs.
  24. I'm hitting Jonkershoek this Saturday morning. Depart the gate at 8am. The plan is to hit the fun bits, so probably the firehut trail (maybe even twice), then the old DH and flowtrail, and also the last part of the current DH track. Anyone interested in joining me? Pace will be slowish on the ups, and not terribly fast on the downs either Hoping for 2-3 hours total riding.
