  1. You can buy the black Marsh guards directly from their website.
  2. That looks more like a park/DH bike. I think a Kona Process would make a better enduro/AM bike.
  3. Nice write-up Headshot. Sorry to hear about your fall, that was a rocky spot to come off. Glad that you're ok.
  4. I'd base myself in Stellenbosch, with 2 days for Jonkers and a day for the other stuff. Then a day trip out to Durbanville for Contermans, Hoogekraal and Meerendal. And then a big day out at Welvanpas. And another day out at Oak Valley, Grabouw. Remember to keep some time inbetween for wine-tasting.
  5. This. I'm going to wear a hole in my shorts from the tyre-rub on my arse when doing steep descents on my 29er. And I crap myself every time it happens. Guess I'm not tall enough at 1.74m.
  6. Yep, was there for both days. Major tired legs today from all the climbing, but was well worth it for the downhills.
  7. If those Stereos had been available here last December, I would have bought one. My next bike purchase will be in about 4 years, so hopefully they are an option then!
  8. So nothing has changed in the last 20 years then.
  9. I'd love to see more Fox kit available here. Wish I could find some Digit gloves locally.
  10. This was the queue for the start of the first stage at the last Dirtopia event. After that, the queues were very short as the field was now spread out over the course. http://instagram.com/p/YxZ4oTCMUs/
  11. The timed stages are sections of a trail, typically downhill. In between these stage start points you can ride as slow as you like, stop for lunch, do what you like. Once you decide to start though, you're timed until the finish of that stage. The last event the stages were between 2 and 6 minutes long. Your stage times are added together to give your overall time. It is very similar to car rallying, where the special stages are the only thing that counts. The starts aren't co-ordinated. You can start whenever you're ready. So if you think you're going to catch the guy that has just gone before you, you can just wait an extra minute before your start. If you want to follow your mate because he has mad skillz and you want to copy his lines, then you can start immediately after him.
  12. Looks like entries for this weekend have been a bit slow. This just posted on Dirtopia's FB: "Support the next Enduro at Welvanpas this weekend or it won't happen... You can ride one or both days on Saturday or Sunday. Entries close tomorrow!" So phone a friend and make sure we get enough people entered! It would be sad to lose an event before enduro has even gotten off the ground here.
  13. Someone is going to be very stiff this morning.
  14. Nice to see Minnaar back in the mix. Now if Hill and Bulldog can stay on their bikes...
  15. Quite a few people here that have them. They all seem happy. Although I don't quite get why you'd want to ride XC wheels on a trail/AM bike.
  16. One reason might be that racing rules say both wheels must be the same size.
  17. If you're going Rovals, the ones you want are the trail SL, as specced on the Stumpy FSR S-Works. Another option is Haven Carbons.
  18. Hope hubs are great value.
  19. Even more impressive that he managed to talk through it all without crashing.
  20. When I phoned Leatt themselves to find my closest dealer, I was directed to a few motorbike shops. None of them carried much stock, nor were they particularly interested in ordering a single item in from Leatt for me to try.
  21. Sheez chaps, take those chips off your shoulders and listen to what Hairy is actually saying. Hairy is concerned that one day he's going to find the aforementioned unilluminated cyclist smeared into the tar. Although this chap doesn't seem to care for his life much, that doesn't mean we shouldn't.
  22. Here they are on ACC's new Ibis
  23. Mavic tyres? That's gonna be interesting.
  24. Mmmm. What I expect 1. Hart 2. Gwin 3. Gee 4. Mr Min 5. Hill What I'm hoping for 1. Mr Min 2. Bulldog 3. Hill 4. Smith 5. Blenki
  25. Last time we finished around 2pm I think. It is possible to enter the days individually.
