  1. I'm currently riding the 32T for a while, after the last 30T is showing quite bad wear. If anything, I'll go to a 28T next time, so that I spend less time in the granny, which seems to wear the chainrings prematurely with the extreme chain angle. On my local trails I spend a lot of time in that bottom gear, and I'm hardly ever at the other end.
  2. You've broken a Kona?
  3. Neither. Get this rather... http://www.konaworld.com/images/bikes/large/process_153_dl.jpg
  4. Some bike maintenance goodies, a shorter stem, and switching from gripshift to triggers. XX1 gripshift for sale soon...
  5. The 80km/h limit would take effect at the sign. Up until the sign, the limit would still be 60km/h.
  6. Are you talking about uphills or downhills? On uphills, keep your weight forward, chest as close to the bars as you can get it, and take the widest line possible through the turn. Keep a steady power output to maintain traction. On downhills, lay off the front brakes, and generally take the widest line, depending on ruts, whether its bermed, etc. Use the back brake and slide the back wheel a bit if you want to correct yourself into the apex. Also, look at the exit, which will turn your body slightly in that direction.
  7. I'm running 720mm, 12.5mm rise, 4 degrees up, 8 degrees back (Answer Protaper) on my Stumpy. I'm quite happy with the rise, but want to go a bit wider still (750mm). Are the guys at your LBS dirt-roadies by any chance?
  8. Shorter stem and wider bars will help with that
  9. If I received them free, they'd also be my "bar of choice" . I don't think we can read too much into the fact that lots of pros use them, except that they can't be bad.
  10. I agree, doesn't sound condescending at all. By "fair battle" I'm sure she means "good" battle, not that it was unfair.
  11. Just ordered this... Moving from a 75mm stem down to 50mm.
  12. Specialized Stumpy FSR, Pyga, Cannondale Trigger, Giant Trance, etc. There's loads of bikes that should fit what you're looking for.
  13. Claudio FTW
  14. Disylizzy, if you have issues, approach the guys directly. They acknowledge they have awful communication issues. Facebook is a TERRIBLE tool for any kind of constructive discussion, and I understand why things get deleted and edited from time to time. Its just a poor platform for meaningful engagement. Pick up the phone and raise your issues directly.
  15. I posted some details of mine in this thread - https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/128083-chinese-carbon-wheels/page__hl__chinese+carbon+wheel
  16. This will be good for the 2nd hand market.
  17. That makes sense. With their suspension design they can't get the chainstays any shorter than they are. And they are longer than everyone else. Their sales must be hurting already.
  18. They make helmets without peaks??!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  19. The rest of us are still waiting for the video highlights edit. Or did I miss it?
  20. What a legend.
  21. Got some new shoes after my previous ones died...
  22. Dial'd bikes will have you some in a day or two.
  23. I'm a member. Makes sense to support the people that are actually doing useful stuff for us.
  24. Holy crap! Where are these coming from, and how much?
  25. So just like suspension, or gears?
