  1. Zando has it nailed. Not only is it a free return, they organise the courier to come and collect it. Makes the whole buying clothing online proposition relatively risk-free.
  2. Agreed, great service from these guys. I just wish 661 was more consistent in their sizing.
  3. Very much members only.
  4. I will report back! Although I must say I haven't had any issues as a user of the Trailtag system.
  5. I will add Russell onto our list of places to visit for a weekend. Thanks!
  6. That looks pretty awesome. There is also the amazing Queen Charlotte Track nearby - http://www.qctrack.co.nz/track/bike/
  7. Here's some Rotorua trails... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r1jAP7O8pI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkpAjU-Xe0A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyf3yQmr4vs
  8. Auckland for now. Not really any mountain biking in the city, but there's some reasonable riding about 45-60 minutes out.
  9. From what I've seen of Rotorua, their tracks are VERY flowy. Easy when slow, but timing becomes very important when travelling at speed. I don't think we have any tracks like that in the Western Cape (parts of Jonkers come closest probably).
  10. Me too, I'm moving there at the end of December. Unfortunately I'll be a 3-hour drive from Rotorua though, but by all accounts it'll be a regular weekend away.
  11. So I've just entered this... Gonna be FUN. http://vimeo.com/60042312 http://res.nz.eventd...05#.UnnjzJQ-KRh
  12. When/where is that?
  13. For those that missed it, entries are open for the next Dirtopia enduro - Sat 24 Nov at Simonsberg... http://dirtopia.co.za/all-mountain-enduro/enduro-november2013
  14. http://fearless-selling.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/bush_doing_it_wrong.jpg If you're replacing yours every 6 months, then you're doing it wrong.
  15. More misinformation. Why exactly would you need to replace the rim tape? And what exactly is your definition of a "tubeless ready" rim anyway?
  16. That's BS. Most manufacturers these days make some kind of "tubeless ready" tyre that has sidewalls that are plenty strong for most people. I've had great success with Bontrager and Specialized tyres that fit this description, and there's probably a few thousand people that have run plain old Maxxis Crossmarks through a Cape Epic with no problems.
  17. 1. Take your wheels to a bike shop and ask for a Stan's conversion. It should run you about R500. 2. Ride your bike 3. After about 6 months you'll probably want them to top your wheels up (Stan's dries up after about 6 months, so punctures won't seal). I haven't had a puncture for SEVEN years. Despite riding through thorn fields every summer.
  18. I've had several pairs of Sidis. Subsequently I switched to Specialized shoes which I find more comfortable. The Sidis way out-lasted the Specs. I don't understand how the sole can come off if you have cleats screwed in though? Did the cleats and their retaining hardware rip out too?
  19. How did I miss this? Games are now available in the SA app store?!!!! Go Apple.
  20. I've used both the gripshift (which I started with) and I'm now using triggers. I think the gripshift shifts faster and more accurately. The only reason I changed was that I wanted to run thinner grips. Durability not so good for me. My 42T lasted only 1000km, so now I'm limited to a 10-36 at the back. The 42 slips with the new chain that I put on at 1000km. I also changed chainrings at 1000km. The reason for the poor durability at the back is that the 42 is aluminium whereas the rest of the cassette is steel. So if your riding involves lots of climbing (as mine does) then carefully consider if XX1 is right for you, or else run a smaller chainring at the front than you might have, to minimise the time spent in the 42. My complaints to SRAM/Cape Cycles about this were fobbed off. Next time I will buy Shimano (hopefully they have a better engineered 1x11 alternative by then).
  21. Small blocks are actually pretty good for the road - it is a tyre designed for hard surfaces. Another good one is the Maxxis crossmark, it has a relatively constant centre tread that wears quite well. (I'm assuming you also want to go on the dirt at some point since you did buy a MTB).
  22. Um, no. Not the same thing. Moving the saddle back will have no affect on the speed of the steering, and while the reach may increase by 10mm, the hip angle will decrease so it may feel a little more cramped.
  23. This is your next event - http://dirtopia.co.za/all-mountain-enduro. Next one is in November
  24. I have the same one. It works well enough but I'd hardly call it good value. My favorite for durability and value are the Topeak multitools.
