  1. SRAM for anything AXS (GX, XO1, and XX1) & XO1 and XX1 cable as long as it's used with a XO1 or better cassette. Shimano for everything else.
  2. Have you considered the Scott Scale 24"? Pretty well specced and priced. https://www.thehangerbikeco.co.za/products/scottscale24discblue They also have a Roxter which is the same bike, with a rigid fork and slightly higher volume tyres. Give me a shout if you are interested - full disclosure, I work at the shop to which I posted the link.
  3. Not that it makes the price any less, but for weight you could go for the CushCore XC insert. 300gr for the set.
  4. Why not some CushCore? They are available locally....
  5. Just sold my Apple watch to go back to a Fenix. The Apple watches are great day to day, but just a bit too dainty for exercise - the Ultra doesn't look much better to me. The displays are what makes them great and horrible (same applies to Garmin Epix). It is awesome to use, but that short battery life just does it in.
  6. Well that depends, do you want to measure elapsed time or moving time? How long is a piece of string? What is the meaning of life?
  7. Currently on Tufo 11 and 14s - they roll faster than anything I have ridden before. They are super light, and surprisingly puncture resistant. Compound is perfect, so they bite around turns alot more than you'd expect.
  8. Scott does have spares, and I do have one in store for you. PM your details and I'll get it to you.
  9. With Bluetooth on, HR monitor and power meter connected, I am charging once a week with around 8 to 10 hours of riding per week. Battery has not dropped below 40% yet. I haven't tried to see how long it would last.
  10. I've had a few Garmin units in the last couple of years - from Fenix and Instinct watches to Edge 520s and 130s. I couldn't fault the on the bike functioning, but where it all fell apart was the app - with both Android and Apple, although more Apple - the units would sync well for a while, and then all of a sudden not at all no matter what I try, then it is an unpair / repair situation and it works again for a while, and then again not. Recently made the move to Wahoo Elemnt Bolt 2. On the bike it is going to be down to preference - I prefer the Wahoo, but I can't say it is better than the Garmins. But, off the bike the Wahoo wins hands down - it's App is faultless, rides sync immediately, and personalizing the unit from the app is much easier than anything I have experienced with Garmin. I don't think you will go wrong with either, I have just not had any frustrating sync issues with Wahoo which is enough for me to go with Wahoo again should I need a new unit for some reason.
  11. Depends on your height and the dropper. I could fit a 180mm on this bike. But it was actually my wife's bike, and a size M. I am a large. If you are on the taller end of your bike's size curve you could probably fit a 170mm. Most droppers have measurements on their site - go an check it out and measure your bike. Use a fixed dropper to see how much insertion you can get.
  12. I had a 2015 Camber. Definitely does accommodate internal cable routing - I had an internal dropper installed. Cable routing just goes beneath the bb (you need to knock it out to install - a bit of a pain, but can be done). Had a Lyne 125mm installed, no complaints.

  14. Got one for you - sent you a DM
  15. I'm on the side of pretty much paying anything to have a clean cockpit - so AXS is a no brainer for me. But I like gadgety stuff. And now that I am back on cable after riding AXS for a while I am missing it. I have to admit I've never had a wireless dropper though - but I like the idea.
  16. I try my best to make sure my dropper collar is as close to the frame as possible - by buying the longest possible drop my frame can fit at my saddle height. On my last bike (Large) I got it 0.5cm from slammed to my frame with a 200mm dropper. I ride Enduro bikes, I ride marathon bikes, I apply that same logic to all my bikes, and I would buy a Reverb AXS in a heartbeat if I wasn't all about the matchy matchy (my seatpost needs to be Kashima like my suspension - first world problems). So I would say the video addresses a very real problem....
  17. The only difference is the cage. I rode my GX AXS for a year, then when the time came to replace pulley wheels I just went with a cSixx cage and pulley wheels. You end up with an arguably better product than the XO1 for less money. Agree with you on the cable stuff, wouldn't touch GX, but with AXS, the GX version is faultless. Edit: Ran it with an XO1 cassette and XX1 chain - that is where the real shift quality difference is felt. Also cheaper per km if you look at the price over the lifetime of the cassette and chain.
  18. Not much hey, I'll take it off your hands and save you the effort of getting rid of it No idea tbh, but very nice bike
  19. Yeah, it's a weird thing hey, our Zimbabwean nanny feels much the same way here in SA. Home is home at the end of the day. I have to say, although I experienced it to a degree, talking to my parents now, especially my mom who tagged along for my dad's work - they experienced it alot more. She is a pharmacist, at that stage with 20 years working experience, but she had to do some exams and an internship that side to be able to practice - she was treated like crap by someone 20 years her junior, and she says where in SA she would give them a mouthful, there she just kept quiet and took the abuse because you know it's not your country, or your place. Luckily my dad's work had him back in SA after a few years - my brother and I luckily reverted back to our Souf Efrikan accents after a few months of being given shyte by our old friends back in SA. I'm very glad we came back, although I did enjoy the time there.
  20. 3000km on a gravity tyre is about 3 times what I'd expect to get from a tyre.
  21. It wasn’t as much a dislike of Aus, as it was gaining perspective and an appreciation of what we do have in SA - even with all it’s issues. Having spent my time there as a teenager though, I wouldn’t want to raise my kids there. The freedoms of a “safe country” come with a whole bunch of other issues. I was exposed to a whole lot of things there at a very young age I did not see again until I was much older back in SA. That alone is enough for me to rather raise my girls here. And then of course, even though we ended up getting permanent residency, we were always reminded we were outsiders in some or other subtle or not so subtle way. There are a bunch of other reasons I wouldn’t easily move there - but that is not an Aus reason and more a first world country thing. But those reasons are very subjective, so neither here nor there, probably not worth mentioning here anyway. Long story short, it would take alot to make me pick my things up and go abroad with my family.
  22. Been there, got the t-shirt, no thanks. Would rather live in SA with no power for 12 hours a day.
  23. Can’t see why not… I haven’t used this tyre myself though. My tyre choice ends up being in the 1200gr+ per tyre haha
