  1. Just change out the DHR on the rear for an Aggressor. I've used a couple of combos, and by far the tyre I have used that rolls the most like a trekker tyre is the DHR. If it's still too much, remove the DHF from the front and replace with the DHR you took off the back.
  2. Heeeey... awesome thread. Can we keep all this stuff in the relevant threads please?
  3. 100kg is not heavy - blerry roadies.
  4. Yes, no paddling, that's for kayaks
  5. I'll let you know what I think. The spare DHF I have is an Exo plus - didn't see that till it arrived by courier. I'm hoping it will allow front wheel pressures around 20psi.
  6. Very heavy - especially in 29". But the good news is that the Exo+ version is being released in the near future. Still have a new DHF waiting once the current one dies, but after that I will try the Ass guy.
  7. From my experience Exo definitely trumps GRID
  8. I've used Exo for a couple of years now with no issues. Recently got a new frame and put a 2.5 Aggressor Exo on the rear, and on the first ride out took a gash out of the sidewall, it's not klaar, but I suspect it will fail there soonish. My next rear tyre will be Double Down (if you can even get a 2.5 aggressor in that in SA). But for the front I will stick to Exo, I don't see a world in which I am gonna need more on the front.
  9. DNF, he drank too much coffee....
  10. #mencangetpregnanttoo ?
  11. No worries, please do give me a shout if that changes. GLWS!
  12. I'd be interested in the stand and drawer system. Please drop me a PM with price and a pic or two if you do want to sell on it's own - the stand is the only thing missing from my set-up.
  13. Yup, but 99% of people did not say that an everesting attempt is easy and go on to bail not once, but twice on a world record attempt of something they have not even done at all. Context is indeed everything.
  14. Bit of a joke if you ask me. He says he knows caffeine is a performance killer for him, yet drinks a ton of caffeine before the attempt. Surely this is just a poor excuse?
  15. Herniated my l5/s1 disc, again (4th time in 7 years). Eish. Looks like I am gonna be off the bike for a while...
  16. I think that applies to advertised prices/promos, and not glitches such as this.
  17. Momsen did highlight the changes in their post above.
  18. Round 1 and 2 of EWC will not be super technical. The only way you will write yourself off is if you ride above your limits. Re: protective gear, only needed if you are gonna push your limits. I did the whole series last year with a normal helmet (also ride Helderberg without pads and full face weekly). I will however ride with protection this year because I am keen to push myself a bit. Long story short - I think the only event you will NEED protective gear is Jonkershoek, as that has Plumber and Iron Monkey in there, and they have indicated there will be 5 stages this year which can only mean Firehut or Status Quo (extra nappies needed). But... Hoogekraal and Contermans are not hard to ride, and if last year is anything to go by - gaps, jumps, techy stuff is very very well marked and you will have enough time to go around. Just DO IT!! The organisers put so much time and effort into making enduro accessible to everyone and they do a dam good job of it. Trust me, you will not be ridiculed or judged for going around obstacles or walking sections. It really is a super fun day out and you will not regret taking part....
  19. Can't say I have any issues with back pedaling on my 50t (boost setup). I think most of the time it's just bad set up with 12spd being so sensitive to small changes. But yeah wouldn't be surprised if some company markets a recolutionary "new" dork disc of sorts.
  20. Well to bomb a trail down you must first go up. I'm going through chains with Enduro type of riding faster than I did with marathon riding. Probably because my riding now consists mostly of an hour of climbing in small gears followed by 10 to 15mins of descending in a big gear with hardly any pedaling. But the point does stand - everyone's mileage is gonna be different based on how they ride/shift/etc
  21. Really wish this was available as a frame only option - I would buy one today.
  22. Don't forget the gale force winds, rain, and 20kg back pack they had to carry.
  23. My little Labby (Mila) is in to get spayed today. Shame, the Boxer (Diesel) is completely and utterly lost without her today - looking for her in every nook and cranny! They are completely dependant on each other. The next week is gonna be tough since the usually sleep outside together, and I will have to keep them apart (she will sleep inside in our room). I fear the day one of them dies - the other will be distraught! Though that is still many years away...
  24. Yoh yoh yoh, beautiful Morne!
  25. What was the spoiler? I was being as vague as possible - dunno if you were refering to my comment about killing off characters? Coz that was in reference to GOT in general. I guess it could have given away a bit, but definitely not who was gonna die or how they were going to die...
