  1. WW, I got a cannister at Bruce Reyneke that appears to seal tubbies; however the "cuts" have to be relatively small to sustain 14bar ... I have found that sometimes the cut opens but "seals" again around 8bar; enough to cycle home!
  2. good quality pics ...
  3. Esquire, the irony is that when a person like yourself make a simple fair request, the cyclist (most of them) immediately feels intimidated and believes that the person making the request is intruding the cyclist space.
  4. Agree with Marius!
  5. The way some hubbers are posting their comments tell me alot about their level of intelligence!!!
  6. photography at NITE!!! not pornography at NITE.
  7. I truely believe this is unfair to publicly give information about this person ... I made a similar mistake previously and found out that it was not the person .. Common hubbers, what if this is not the guilty person ... just imagine the harassment etc. from people calling him/her?
  8. Bottom line ... praat wat jy gemaklik me is!
  9. Jammer Anton dat ek geantwoord het; ek het nie geweet jou 2de naam is Piet nie?
  10. Nee Jason!
  11. Nee BigH ... ons moet almal ZULU leer .. dis wat die statistiek se ....
Korrek, Afrilkaans sal altyd in Suid Afrika wees!
  13. I just wonder how you communicated with people in Africa with your recent expat state?? Anyway ... here on the hub, you are correct, it is your right in which language you want to write your post. Some people express themselves the best in their mother tongue!
  14. Correct, if both cyclist have the identical spec of bikes etc. However, this is never the case ... assuming me and u are the same weight .. but or bikes are different and over the same distance, your average heart rate is also different as you are fitter .... that means my heart had more heart beats than you, I used more oxygen to my leg muscles, which I would want to think that my leg musles consumed more energy for the same distance, because our total weight (body plus bicycle etc.) was different? I have worked harder ....
  15. In fact now that I am thinking of it, the calculation is will always be incorrect if they use speed plus gradient as primary factors to calculate ... For example, 2 riders, both same weight doing the same course ... surely they will have different energy consumption, due to their fitness and physique ...
  16. I think that Polar uses HR as an input to calculate energy expenditure .... anyway suppose Garmin is not going to change the way they calculate energy expenditure ....
  17. thanks Ian, I would have thought it would also use your heart rate as an input to the calculation, which in my case should have been 0 ...
  18. I have a technical question regarding an Edge 305. How does Garmin calculate the energy consumption? I took my Edge 305 yesterday in the car, travelling from PTA to JHB ... According to the data, I have consumed 1545 calories?? How could that be possible? or is the calculation based on an assumed energy expenditure?
  19. GO, surely your personal best is related to the fastest time of the day, regardless of the route? Same goes when Argus was via Ou Kaapse Weg instead of Chapmans Peak.
  20. I think Anriette still did well .... 3rd ... still a podium finish .... bottom line, yesterday was Cherise's day!!
  21. I wonder where is the "expert" hubber that had so much to comment about the ladies attending the event in NZ, especially around Cherise and Yolandi .....
  22. International exposure and experience is far more important at this stage than results for our ladies .... Results will come .... Looking at the recent Carnival City proves that the likes of the ladies in the team at present can maintain the high speed averages ... which tells me they are very much capable!!!!
  23. People will always have an opinion about RSA cycling at the international scene ... for those for the ladies ... GOOD; for those against the ladies, shame on YOU ... Our ladies had the opportunity of racing at an international event; which regardless the results, gained so much experience!!
  24. I would believe this is the biggest factor!
