  1. Crux ... Jaco and Rene is not just any mixed tandem ... they both exceptional athletes!!!! Hence the results ....
  2. Gentlemen, okay so AO cheated by not entering the race. What I feel was more wrong was to interfere with the race! However, when certain instances upset hubbers; they seem to rev the instance. When the same hubbers at any point in their life make similar mistakes; then it is OK ... Surely that is double standards? The biblical saying in afrikaans comes to mind "Haal die splinter uit jou oog, voor jy die balk uit n ander se oog haal" We are all human; yes things like AO behaviour upsets us; but let us not keep on hammering on the issue; lets move forward and contribute to the upliftment of our sport and country. Negativity does not contribute to this ..... Okay hubbers now hammer my comments!!!!!
  3. It looks good as it is something different than the norm!
  4. From what I read the ladies moan that the group passing them interfere with their racing ..... Hopefully the ladies should not be passed by many groups .... as this is a high average race!
  5. I find Prepsol (degreaser) to work well on ALU frames. Spray it on even the cluster. Then rinse it of with water ... low pressure tho.
  6. Ever consider that Chris JR is more interested in establishing his online store? He will make more money with his store than competing up here in JHB?
  7. You have clearly showed it on the HUB!! Your were continually attacking the hubbers!!!
  8. Ja boet.....I see Microsoft has the same problem...... Spinnekop: Is your balancing sheet done? or was Klapperkop not that hard this morning? You way too relax today .... the last 2 days, I am sure, was hell for u!
  9. Okay so to put things in perspective and summary: It is a busy, narrow road with no shoulder (Nellmapius) Cyclists going up hill and swerved slightly. Silver Merc hoots (rightful or not?) Cyclist allow motorist past Cyclist gives the finger (Maybe not a good image for cycling! This will lead to conflict with motorists - Just a wave would have possibly been more appropiate) Cyclists and Motorists need to accomodate each other on our roads. Mutual respect cost nothing ...... Personally as a cyclists, I would be the first to compromise the situation as my life (at my age) is more important to my family than fighthing with a car/motorist ... I know I would come of 2nd best.
  10. Pantani: You ready for BMW on SAT on the tandem?
  11. Nellie: I have sense that you want 2 stir ... nothing wrong in admitting here on the hub that you obsessed with a Raleigh!
  12. Must agree with Chunky re: Cape Town Boys coming up to JHB. I personally believe that the CSC team is great team but in the wrong province. They should be up here in JHB and I am sure they will get quickly competitive with the other team; as they have more chance in a month to compete with the majority of team located here in JHB!
  13. Very very good setup calculator. I am only out with my saddle setback; otherwise all other calculations are spot on!
  14. Fuji SL
  15. Grapkas: Young "men" generally has an ego; now especially doing cycling as a PRO; he sure does think the sun shines out of his rear wheel hub! But, then I can also say the same about PRO ladies; they seem to be friendly to whom they want to be. Just my observation amongst PRO SA cycling. Speaking about the Barlow team, I sincerely think that Ryan Cox is humble and so is Tiaan Kannemeyer (Not sure if he still ride for Barlow)
  16. R300 bail? The SAPS obviously values life very cheap in this country!
  17. MuXmAn: Enforing this law is easy by the authorities; I think the problem is with the greater population that uses a bicycle as means of transport? Also how to give a fine to someone that has no form of identification on him? When the authorities stop you with a car, the first thing they ask you is for your drivers license .. which has your name, ID etc. I think it is a catch 22 for the authorities to enforce such a law. With the Alberton group; I think the majority of cyclist should either tell them they not welcome or do not ride with them?
  18. Dr Suess I would recommend the following (works well for me): Measure the length from the clipless to the top of the saddle along the seat tube. Let the crank arm be inline with the seat tube. Do this with you SLR first. Record the measurement. Also measure the tip (front) of the saddle to the top of the handle bars. I also measure the centre of the saddle post to the front of the saddle. Then do the same wwith your Fizik saddle. You will get almost a perfect fit. I will not just drop 5mm. Hope this helps.
  19. Nothing wrong with the topic Cervelo. I just think it is unfair on the owner of Ocean Basket to give him this bad publicity in a public cycling forum. Surely every bad service any South African receive can not be entertained on this forum? Ever considered that the owner of this Ocean Basket here in question could be a CYCLIST?
  20. My deepest condolences to the family. Most of us are also motorist at times ... please refrain from diverting your attention from the road .. It so scary to see how many motorist are still on their cellphones whilst driving ....
  21. Where is the relationship between Ocean Basket and Cycling?
  22. What about Elsiesriver ... or Ruyterwaght!!!
