  1. Just bought the Velo bib shorts and at 25% off it's a sweet deal. Especially after someone mentioned my current shorts were a little bit on the see through side.
  2. Had a quick look on Gumtree and seems as though Gumtree ad is: a) 2 months old - possibly updated to make it reflect on the search results b) a 56cm model as opposed to a 54 that was stolen c) different wheels, different pedals as pointed out Unless there is another ad I didn't pick up?
  3. Lopez has been booted from Astana, wonder if that opens a door for Cav?
  4. I promised my son I would put him on the back of a tandem for this year's edition and he hasn't let me forget! So now I need to find one to ride but not keen on buying one. Any idea where I could borrow or rent one?
  5. Nope, back to slowest start first this year.
  6. Yeah, feels like there isn't too much standardisation going on with standards. Thru Axles are another area where there seems to be quite a lot of divergence.
  7. Just seemed like a lot of finger pointing and riding more than 2 abreast at the front to stop any further breaks. Maybe some harsh words were said.
  8. The footage today has me looking up all those forts and day-dreaming about cycling around Italy...
  9. Glad it went that far, hope it's a successful prosecution.
  10. Sorry if this is too close to home... One of those hasty replies.
  11. Or go for a ride, get bashed by a Polo and lie down in the back of a bakkie?
  12. Two corners in the deep south that give me mild panic when leading up to them. This corner on Chappies, overthinking about the entry speed, where my apex is (come in to soon and hit the yellow paint and slip, too wide and drift onto the opposite lane and risk collision). Most of the time I brake way before and take a safe middle line approach at sensible speed. Then the no camber left turn on Red Hill descent. Seen so many people panic taking too much speed into that corner and not able to maintain a line through the corner (even seen one guy shoot straight across and do some impromptu gravel biking down the other side). Glad the outcome of this incident was mostly good, so many fine margins and it could have been so much worse.
  13. Bye Bye Bjarne https://nttprocycling.com/team-update-bjarne-riis
  14. I posted in the stolen bikes thread as well but it's a very strange MO. I wonder if it's gang driven and part of an initiation or they are so high on the current drug of choice that there is no rational thought.
  15. I reckon they should auction off seedings to the highest bidders this year and put the proceeds towards charity.
  16. I really like this and would seriously consider one.
  17. Disappointing showing both in terms of results and just how unnoticeable they were during the tour. Hardly ever moving to the front of the peloton or seeming to ride as a group (most of the zoom out shots showed isolated NTT riders in a sea of others). Really hope they can make a showing at the remaining GT's and the classics, they made a nice video series how they chose their bikes and kits for Paris-Roubaix so hope that amounts to something.
  18. Although I have now just seen that Dave Bellairs will be talking to Bicycling Magazine on their Facebook live page about the plans for the DC. We wait with baited breath
  19. We are getting might close for a go/no-go call to be made for the DC this year. At current regulations it would still be a no-go as for far as I can tell there hasn't been any change made for sporting events under level 1 lock-down.
  20. I vaguely recall the Strava segment seeding was very quietly cancelled about a week or 2 after it was first launched. Think there may have been some rights for use issues as well as how to make sure people didn't cheat etc.
  21. What about Qhubeka? As well as providing bikes as charitable donations, members of the public can also buy them. Manufactured under the Real Bicycle Company.
  22. My usual haunt, quick spin to the top of Chappies and back home for coffee. Strange that there was hardly anybody else around this morning.
  23. Out and about on Saturday. What a day on a bike.
  24. As far as I understand, if there has been a breach of rules (in this instance drafting or intentional obstruction) then you can raise an objection or challenge with the race officials and action will be taken - time penalties or a DQ. If a team feels strongly that this has taken place then raise an objection and make it known, this might discourage the more blatant drafting or drifting out wide. A couple of times I was isolated with a couple of team-mates and we asked faster teams coming along if we could get a tow and they happily obliged.
