  1. Number 16 for me this year. Have also over the last few years made it a fun ride, stopping for a coffee in Bryanston and a Beer in Dunkeld.
  2. The gnarly back roads post all the heavy rains in the Big Smoke.
  3. Took an old carbon 26" mtb HT frame, fitted with 27.5 wheels and Bontrager rigid fork. Not pretty, but functional. Next will be the drop bar option and shifters.
  4. Had a similar scenario a while back. Bike Hub offer at half asking price. Excuse being CT based.
  5. Here's another possible option if you can stretch your budget a bit. Theres always room for negotiation on some items. Hopefully other hubbers can advise. Norco Storm 1 (M) | Hardtail Mountain Bikes | Bike Hub
  6. At OP. Does your budget of 3-5k include cost of Helmet etc or is it just for the bike?
  7. Have a 330 lying around (not 530 as originally thought). Baking plate looks to be different, but mount is the same. Welcome to have it if you want.
  8. What size bike are you looking for? Have an old 26er Cannondale advertised in the classifieds for 2500. Willing to drop to 2250 if keen. Size is medium. Here's the link: Cannondale F600 26 HT MTB | Hardtail Mountain Bikes | Bike Hub
  9. May have an old 530 lying around which you would be more than welcome to have. Would just need to cover postage as up in JHB. Will let you know via DM.
  10. Is this doable on a Gravel Bike? Can't find anything on the website.
  11. Not quite today, more like late December. Had the distinct pleasure of catching up with this guy. Excuse the Ballie on the left🤣
  12. A bit of fun between Cav and Valtteri: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCXRXasy7oA/
  13. Did this race in 2015. Vowed never to do it again. So far I have remained true to my word. Long may it last.
  14. Another (often overlooked) option for Bibs is Panda Sportwear. Affordable (R1200) and the gel pad is supper comfy Plain Black Bib (Elite) – Panda Sportswear
  15. Looking at the results (open/seeded batches), there looked to be just over 8000 starters (8032) and 7819 finishers (recorded time). That would equate to 213 non finishers. That said, I did see a number of riders out there that didn't appear to have timing boards so the above could be skewed.
  16. Enjoyable day out. Aimed for a sub 3.30 and did 3.29. Even stopped for a taste of the craft beer going through Lonehill. Kudo's to all those who finished. #15 done and dusted.
  17. My 2c worth: KTM Ultra Comp *ROCKSHOX* 2x11SPD*(L) | Hardtail Mountain Bikes | Bike Hub

As nice as they are, I cannot fathom dropping > R20k on a rack.
  19. Thats what I meant, the sweeter and colder the better
  20. Must admit, I am also an Oros fan. One bottle with Oros /water mix (tends to be on the sweet side) Other bottle contains water / salt tablet mix.
  21. No time like the present
  22. I hit 42 degrees on my ride yesterday. Even got tan lines of my bib through my jersey🥵 Luckily managed to control my fluid intake as was out for a good 6 hours (170Km's). The last 20 kays were definitely a HTFU moment.
  23. Hi Dylan. Where would you be starting from? I would stay away from River Road and rather use St James Crescent over Bryanston Drive. Up St James and Left in Eccleston. Brings you out by the Hobart Spar. Far safer and less traffic. The return ride will be a battle though with the morning traffic
