  1. Have always loved their bikes. One of the nicest bikes in the pro peloton.
  2. Some nasty stuff doing the rounds. Both the wife and I contracted Swine Flu over a month ago and still coughing and spluttering. Tried doing a short ride a week back and felt like I was towing an elephant behind me. Managed to do a short stint on the trainer yesterday with not much difficulty. Just need to ease into slowly.
  3. Haven't even hit the big mountains and the gap between Yates and Last is already 41Mins plus.
  4. Looking at the below statement, looks like 2023 is not happening and will only restart in 2024: “Their support showcases the confidence they have in the sport,” Rademeyer continued. A confidence which has led them to invest in the relocation of the Glacier Cradle Traverse event for 2024. “The new venue is 250 kilometres from Johannesburg and features some of the best trails in the country,” Rademeyer hinted. “We will be launching the race in due course, but I can confirm that it will feature the same warm hospitality and relaxed atmosphere which makes the Glacier Storms River and Glacier Cradle Traverse events so popular.”
  5. Remember that climb well. First and only time I did it was in 2015. Still have the hole in my knee (scar now) from this race.
  6. Just a heads up. Post pics of the actual bike and not a google image. Also post an ad in the classifieds.
  7. There appears to a be specific race for school goers (15-19yrs). Maybe that is what the OP is doing. If that is the case, why not then approach you schools for sponsorship?
  8. https://bicyclecouriers.co.za Could be a costly venture though
  9. + 1 for Karcher. Cannot go wrong
  10. Slightly off topic though. Have always wondered what would happen if you took an Ice Cream Delivery person or a Post Office delivery person that ride those heavy bikes around and put them on a decent specked road bike, how they would fare?
  11. IMHO, two predominant reasons: 1. Safety 2. Criminal Aspect
  12. Never knew you could ride in the ocean? LOL
  13. Ackerman's battle scars post Sunday's crash in the last KM.
  14. The guys are flying - more likely an issue with the stats....
  15. At least it looks like the weather will be favourable today.
  16. N3 to Harrismith, then Kestell. Alternatively, you can do the scenic route through Golden Gate past that unpronounceable village with a P (LOL)
  17. My 2 cents worth. Stay away from SAPO. With them being on the verge of collapse, the likelihood of one ever receiving anything via them is zero.
  18. Stage 13 has been shorted to 74.6 km. There will be no climb of the Salita del Gran San Bernardo. The start will be in Le Châble, at the foot of the Croix de Coeur.
  19. Weather has been miserable. Italy clearly having some crap weather at the moment. Imola GP this weekend has been cancelled due to extreme weather and flooding
  20. Slight amendment: Great advice and given here already. My 5 tips for sub 10 weather riding would be: 1. Stay in bed 2. Warm cup coffee while in bed 3. One foot out to test temp 4. Back under the covers 5. 2nd cup coffee...
  21. Not Giro but Jours de Dunkerque. These boys are bloody tough.
  22. Stage 10 dropouts / DNS getting worse. Vlasov abandoned due to illness.
