  1. The Cradle has become an absolute S..t show of late. Feel a lot safer doing my suburb routes from home having to doge the odd taxi (which most of the times are more considerate that the motorists.) If I do venture out to the cradle, will rather go in the afternoon.
  2. Cyclists caught breaking speed limit – but police can’t stop them | The Independent
  3. Dust and more dust - @ Need Rain
  4. My mind still bogles that he is not sitting behind bars and is still actively scamming people. Surely there is enough meat on this scumbag to prosecute him?
  5. Does resemble the Intense 6.6 to a certain degree
  6. Used to have SupaCaz. Was not willing to fork out close to 1k so got the Ryder Super Grip (R300). Very happy with it so far.
  7. Think with a lot of these FB adds, the image has been copied from somewhere and the actual goods/item doesn't even exist?
  8. Watching some of the GCN podcasts, amazed at the cost of some of the equipment. Most expensive bike at the TDF is the Trek. +/- $18500 (R333 000) The TT skinsuits can cost between 5000 and 7000 euros (R100 000 - R140 000) Crazy numbers.
  9. JV was on a totally different level yesterday. Maybe Pog will go for an all or nothing approach. If it works, it works, if not at least he would of tried.
  10. Brooks saddles and Pannier on one day only
  11. If any of you are interested, am selling a baby jogger. Have posted an ad in the classifieds: Baby Jogger - Non bike attached | Bike Hub Fair condition, needing some TLC.
  12. Sure there is a bit of a bug in the below calc:
  13. Have always loved their bikes. One of the nicest bikes in the pro peloton.
  14. Some nasty stuff doing the rounds. Both the wife and I contracted Swine Flu over a month ago and still coughing and spluttering. Tried doing a short ride a week back and felt like I was towing an elephant behind me. Managed to do a short stint on the trainer yesterday with not much difficulty. Just need to ease into slowly.
  15. Haven't even hit the big mountains and the gap between Yates and Last is already 41Mins plus.
  16. Looking at the below statement, looks like 2023 is not happening and will only restart in 2024: “Their support showcases the confidence they have in the sport,” Rademeyer continued. A confidence which has led them to invest in the relocation of the Glacier Cradle Traverse event for 2024. “The new venue is 250 kilometres from Johannesburg and features some of the best trails in the country,” Rademeyer hinted. “We will be launching the race in due course, but I can confirm that it will feature the same warm hospitality and relaxed atmosphere which makes the Glacier Storms River and Glacier Cradle Traverse events so popular.”
  17. Remember that climb well. First and only time I did it was in 2015. Still have the hole in my knee (scar now) from this race.
  18. Just a heads up. Post pics of the actual bike and not a google image. Also post an ad in the classifieds.
  19. There appears to a be specific race for school goers (15-19yrs). Maybe that is what the OP is doing. If that is the case, why not then approach you schools for sponsorship?
  20. https://bicyclecouriers.co.za Could be a costly venture though
  21. + 1 for Karcher. Cannot go wrong
  22. Slightly off topic though. Have always wondered what would happen if you took an Ice Cream Delivery person or a Post Office delivery person that ride those heavy bikes around and put them on a decent specked road bike, how they would fare?
  23. IMHO, two predominant reasons: 1. Safety 2. Criminal Aspect
