  1. I placed an old towel under this rubber mat which I purchased from Builders (in 2018, it was R170 for 1.7m) and it works perfectly. Much cheaper than a branded trainer mat.
  2. Nicely done..! Id suggest linking Zwift (if not already linked) to Strava and then linking Strava to intervals.icu - it's got a great fitness trend/graph and a whole lot of other goodness. I'd then do an FTP test and do one of the Zwift training plans - I know that there are mixed views on the net about these but to build baseline fitness, you won't be sorry for doing it.
  3. I had the opposite experience..
  4. Get yourself an ANT+ USB dongle... trust me on this - don't waste your time with Bluetooth. Wahoo local support is epic!
  5. I'm running Zwift on an Intel NUC i3 with 16Gb of RAM and it runs perfectly - I have noticed that Zwift wouldn't connect via Wi-FI (20Mb fibre line from Hellkom) even though I had perfect connectivity for other web pages. Solved this issue by running a network cable from the router to the NUC. I've also noticed that it sometimes doesn't save rides if the companion app is open at the end of a ride so I always close it before the end of the ride and end the ride using the PC mouse. I think there were some delays during the peak of lockdown with uploads to Strava/Garming/TP due to their servers being under abnormal load but this seems to be back to normal now... well for me it is at least.
  6. Thanks for the detailed reply - this is the info that I was after... So basically it's time to start convincing the Mrs
  7. Thanks for the feedback and i'll look into this - In truth, I'm certain my bike will need a full service after lockdown.... I should've mentioned that I do the odd race - my focus is more on my own training.
  8. Hi guys, So I've been using my Wahoo Kickr (direct drive) with my dual suspension MTB (1 x 12) for about 2 or so years now without any issues. Currently doing training plans on Zwift with ERG mode and to date have been able to produce the required power for the plan I'm doing. The Mrs won't allow another bike in the house so this is out of the question. Front and rear are both locked out but still seeing about 20% travel on rear suspension. Not really concerned about travel on front fork. I'm not planning on riding on the road so my focus remains trail riding. Question time: Am I do myself a disservice with my current setup in terms of training/gaining power due to the squish factor? Is my current setup simulating MTB riding which has some squish and should be left as is?Should I add air to my rear suspension to completely stiffen it up (based on Fox's guidelines)?I have noticed that in Zwift races, it's really hard to put the power down and does feel like i'm losing out here. Any other feedback would be great, thanks
  9. My ANT+ dongle is about 1m from my bike and it works perfectly without any drops. I've had it at about 1.5-2m from my bike previously without issues. Worst case, get yourself a USB extension cable
  10. With all that moving around, don't foget to do the spindowns
  11. The website is registered with https://www.registerdomain.co.za/index.php (http://co.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=fcgymequipments.co.za) I'd suggest you contact them to try find out who the owner is. Good luck
  12. Thanks for this feedback - really informative. I'd like to know how you guys deal with retailers who purposefully inflate the RRP to make their discounts seem larger. I posted this on the CWC lockdown sale page which seems to have gone very quiet - not sure if it's a coincidence of my post and others calling them out but anyway. Here's the images and caption which I posted, obviously I didn't get a response from them: "Thought I'd share this.... CWC, please let me know where the integrity is? 21% saving on an inflated price...! Bike-Mob, Buycycle and even your parent company have it listed at usually being R9999". The price on their website no longer mentions the inflated RRP and it's being sold for R9499.99. I for one will never buy from them after this.

  14. Hi guys, Weird request here. A mate of mine got a brand new smart trainer (on wheel) but he's having issues with his rear derailleur as it's not springing back/ putting tension the chain. This is beyond my ability and with the lock down, he can't get anyone to help him. Is anyone able to assist with a WhatsApp video call to him to help out? Please DM me.
  15. https://www.olx.co.za/item/tacx-neo-2-smart-trainer-iid-1061680057 - not sure if this is legit or still available... someone ought to try edit: if it is, someone owe's me
  16. As others have said, I'd go the route of the Kickr Snap (if you can get). The support from the local distributor is amazing and their products are solid. My mate purchased one today for his MTB. Big missions to try get a wheel that fits and bigger mission for me in having to explain how it all works
  17. Thanks for the feedback Shaun, good luck! I'd suggest that you close the last fast downhill (the one that runs parallel to the tar road) until that one gum pole is removed or shift the trail away from the pole. It's right next to the trail and is another accident waiting to happen. If I recall a rider was airlifted a few months back after a serious fall on this section. The last time I rode this section, a while back, the trail itself was in was pretty in bad condition and quite rutted.
  18. Please can someone report back if they've done away with the reverse routes... (please say yes)!
