  2. Agree with your comment @Hairy, motorcycling is indeed cheaper than cycling! I feel that good suspension goes a long way and overall improves the comfort and handling of your machine, so it is money well spent. I cannot be happier that the stock air shock is replaced with a proper aftermarket nitrogen shock on my G650X. Not 100% sure but progressive springs is something also to consider maybe? Will be cheaper than replacing the whole shock or fork. @Spokey may chip in here with his wisdom.
  3. Ullrich was a legend! I tried getting the matching T-Mobile kit to match the bike but sadly life had other plans. Love that bike!
  4. I am replacing her with something called sport shooting with a Glock 19X and the accessories that go with it. Still keeping the kit, maybe I'll return in the future again. But for now change of hobbies, my friend already sold his bike last Monday and the lonely riding is not fun at all.
  5. The Wild Dog Forum perhaps? I am trying to sell my G650X on there at the moment.
  6. Dark mode would be great as previously suggested. For those on computers, there is sort of a workaround via a plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/darkreader/ https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dark-reader/eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh?hl=en
  7. Was a good weekend, with beautiful weather and a great day to be on the bike. Exploring the backroads of Stellenbosch/Klapmuts and doing some pulls. 📍Potbelly Coffee Shop and Bakery

  9. On the topic of mechanics, I take my BMW to The Bike House (Az) in Parklands. He is a pretty knowledgeable guy and I would much rather support him than BMW. A store for spare parts, I'll recommend Wicked Cycles (Paarden Eiland). They were quite helpful and good-priced. Of course, there are loads more, Flying Brick, Trac Mac, Bike Kings (more for clothing).
  10. Very happy for my biker brother who took ownership of his new 2016 BMW R nineT, simply a work of art and sounds amazing even with the stock pipe.
  11. @Hairy did you commute in this weather today?
  12. I love Ryan F9's videos, always very exciting and fun to watch. Seems that we all need to get a 50cc scoot next to our primary bikes. 😜
  13. 📍Yzerfontein Sunset Sadly it seems that they have made this road up to the radio tower private access now... So that was my last time up there, pity since the views are fantastic and you get some bit of dirt with the bike.
  14. Fitted spots to G650X from Extreme Lights since the stock OEM bulb is really poor for night/early morning riding, as well as overall visiblity during daytime. Cannot take any credit for the fitment, I have an awesome friend that helped me with the whole setup. Still need to test out the sturdiness on a gravel/bumpy road but seems to be doing fine on the road.
  15. Definitely on the bucket list, would love to join one since I am still fairly new to the world of motorcycling. Sadly, in my current phase of life with part-time studies and internship I cannot justify spending R2000 on a course at the moment. One day when I am big! For now, basic drills will have to do and the playlist of Mr Chris Birch.
  16. Tried some braking drills, something I really need to work more on. The bike doesn't have ABS, so good technique is quite important. Still a white belt, started slow and went up to 40kph emergency brake in 3m block with the cones. The bike feels fantastic with the new serviced shock, I can now easily gun over speed bumps, previously it felt like the bike wanted to throw me over like an angry horse. Still need to get her off-road.

  18. Got my shock back from MP Suspension after a much-needed service. Didn't even realise it works with nitrogen as well. Looking forward to seeing how the bike actually should feel when you go off-road.
  19. Haven't ride in rain personally but might not be too bad of an idea, but ideally I'll do it over the weekend just to get used to it before tackling the commuting in rain between cars. As for gear, a lot of people said get yourself the cheap Kooperasie rain suite and fit it over your riding gear. And yeah, pinlock is a must.
  20. @Andymannthat Yammie is looking good! Wow. @HairyThe T7 is a ripper: Also have a look here: https://www.joelsmotorcycles.co.za/ Not sure if you went to test drive some BMW models yet?
  21. Yes, my G650X has fairly aggressive engine braking and I prefer it a lot.
