  5. Well the GT's have a true life time warranty on their frames where the Silverbacks are 5 years if I remember correctly. I am not saying the Silverback is worse just that the GT is stiffer for me, I have ridden both
  6. No don't think so, next year alot of local suppliers are going to sell their products via websites, choose your bicycle shop and it gets delivered their and you pay their....oh and the prices are going to finally challenge CRC...well thats what they say we have to wait....
  7. Aerozine cheap option does not last, go for the ceramic option of them which does last
  8. GT frame would be better and stronger so my vote go with the GT
  9. If you are heavy be careful with Mavic, and the importers of Mavic are pathetic at getting parts from and take long although their wheels are beautiful. Easton's are nice and strong and will last but are a bit expensive, the Fulcrums would be a nice choice and are rather good value for money. American Classic's are nice and not expensive, think Victory 30's from them cost about R3100 and weigh 1550grams. You can get a light wheel from them for about R6500 My choice would be the Dura-Ace carbon wheelset, they are light stiff and very durable. My buddy weighs 95kg and rides on these, has had them for a year and have not yet had to have trued
  10. Depending on the geometry of the frame you can even ride a 52 in some brands, I am about as tall as you, well 1cm shorter but my in seam is the same as yours and I ride a 54, it makes a huge difference, you should be on a 54. Did you purchase the frame/bike 2nd hand or did you buy it new? Either way the person should not have sold it to you
  11. Going to be a long day in the saddle, enjoy
  12. Their rep should be the same as my area, phone Omnico directly my issues with warranty items with them have always been sorted out within a week
  13. Its very difficult to get affordable BB's for FSA cranks, not all Shimano one work but Aerozine Bb work perfectly, just make sure you take the ceramic Aerozine option they are not that expensive
  14. Hehe...defnitief veral die road bikes...mouth watering stuff
  15. Have you had your pivots replaced with the new ones from GT at no charge? If not do it, it makes a difference
  16. Man these bikes looked good in the flesh
  17. Go for Rock Shox they can be serviced the Suntours can only be serviced to a certain extent
  18. I use a 50/34 crank with a 11/23 casette on training and normal races here in Gauteng, when I go climbing I put on a 11/25 just works lekker for me
  19. Check all the usual stuff they have mentioned plus check your headset
  20. Go for Scott man you wont be dissapointed, the Merida's tend to crack just behind the BB on the rear triangle, I know from experience
  21. I like Owen think he is doing a good job in broadcasting
  22. Their is a ride and buy at Groenkloof/fountains the 14th of August, go the 29inch route, hardtail but has some of the pros a dual has
