  1. I have also heard of a couple of people of late struggling with claims at various places, I work through a broker, been with them for years and have never had any issues when claiming. They are underwritten by Santam/Sanlam and although I pay about 5% more than what I can get at insurers directly they give excellent service
  2. I don't like carbon repairs but hey that is just me
  3. Nice to have sponsorship from the large companies! Well done VW
  4. Funny how the one hubber always needs to be smarter than the other As many have said so far it won't do any harm, I clingwrap the most important areas on my bike if I transport it in the rain, just for peace of mind sake nothing else
  5. Head tube does not look tapered if I look at the pics but I might be wrong
  6. They put it into the shoe oven and you fit and it forms to your foot. It is not needed to this this its just a quicker way of doing it. Many shops don't have the oven as you need to purchase a lot of shoes before they give you one or you need to buy it from them......eish the importers of Shimano are shrewd
  7. Really just as recalls on motorvehicles and the problems are all sorted, its if they do nothing about the issue where one should worry
  8. All of us have jumped a red light don't be hypocrites, rather take the guy on for kicking your car or trying to kick it
  9. Nowhere is safe to ride in the bush these days unfortunately
  10. Impressive team, Andy has to either better his TT skills and limit losses or has to become even stronger on the mountains
  11. Awesome so one normal bottle and one accelerate will be an excellent combo
  12. Vredenstein Forteza or any Vredenstein road tyre for that matter, excellent mileage and no punctures unless they really past worn

Maybe a stupid question but isn't that a freewheel body?
  14. I have full XO on my new bike with XT pedals, love it
  15. You are allowed to change everything between stages except the frame, so you can't ride one day on a 29er and the next on 26
  16. Fizik's local importers are selling off the pld stock so you will get specials everywhere, the new models are out already
  17. When the rim strip is on the rim lift the rimstrip again, place your index finger underneath it and slowly and gently pull your finger through a full loop underneath the strip, don't pull to hard, your goal is to slightly stretch the strip
  18. It is actually easy, remove your old rimstrip it makes the layers to thick that is on the rim and the tyre may not seat properly. Clean the rim properly using spirits or clean green, disc brake cleaner works best, and leave it to dry properly. Now tape the rim, you need to pull hard on the tape trying to stretch(you wont) but that is the technique you need to use, two full loops will be enough. Now make a small hole were the valve is going to go through with a sharp object like a els or so. put on the rim strip ensuring that it cover the width of the rim. Put the tyre on with sealant in it, especially if you are not running UST tyres and inflate with a compressor. If you struggle to inflate it remove the core. Pump it up hard the first time and go ride. You should be fine Hope this all makes sense
  19. You can get adapters for any crank these days even BB30 and they are not nearly as heavy as they use to be
  20. I have a GT cyclocross bike with Sram Rival groupset which I commute with, love the geometry of the bike
  21. Try the new 1st Ascent compression shorts/bibs
  22. Cyclelab don't stock Giant in PTA but I might be mistaken
  23. I am a cyclist not an MTB rider or Roadie, but a cyclist. Why is their always a split, their is more than enough space for both disciplines and although I am not nearly as quick on my mtb(technical skills are getting their) as my road bike I enjoy both. To me it is my sport so yes I have training programs and I am starting to get obsessed with watts but once a week I leave all my gadgets at home and just go and ride. The main problem why and I can get flamed for this that road cycling has gotten smaller over the years is bike shops! Maintenance on a road bike is minimal so how did bike shops survive? Simple their were very few of them, once mountain biking started to grow the owners immediately started seeing that their is huge potential in rather punting mtb sales than roadbikes as his after sales margins would look better. Its not about safety and that roadies get hit more by cars etc. that is a myth and people believe it, I now what routes one can ride safely both mountain bike and road bike wise and I stick to them! Cyclist FOREVER
  24. The Niner's look damn nice
  25. Rush Sport still does Formula, had my brakes repaired with them last year
