  1. Sorry not sure how to post it otherwise only video I could get see online.
  2. I think the TDF Femmes made her reconsider retirement.
  3. Dan Bigham had a crash as well. G Basson finished in 18th.
  4. Wahoo do have the pedals and GPS's to keep them going and with like most things cycling related a proportionate of cyclists always want the newest so sales should tick over.
  5. Hoping both are on the start line for RR.
  6. No Saffas on the start line for woman's TT.
  7. They normally ask you what is in the box or bike bag at check in, that probably counts as declaration?
  8. They probably do ask the regions to bid, in reality the region who has the funds to host or sponsors lined up will get it. To be able to have the required insurances in place the will have to demonstrate the required RAMS for the routes selected. I really can't see how you can prove rider safety without full road closures or rolling road closures.
  9. While watching the streaming of the ladies race yesterday I thought the same about the expansion joint and thought by myself how many riders will fall today because of wheels getting stuck. Ashleigh had a crash in a classic in EU a few years ago with a similar road detail.
  10. Brigitte has helped and managed Jean since he started his journey for Olympic qualification nearly 5 years ago. She is well qualified and deserved to be selected and has the experience to manage the team.
  11. I edited my original post above. UCI selection rules for Olympics are also at play.
  12. Cycling SA had a selection policy irrespective of national titles with a number of classed events set out that resulted in rankings. *edit Also the selection policy from the UCi called for the following -Hold a validUCIlicense issued by aNational Federationrecognised by the UCI. -Have at least 10 UCIpoints in the Individual UCI World Ranking of 27 October 2019*
  13. I just actually got back from a trip with a couple of friends from the UK for a quick cycle to Belgium. We left Sevenoaks early Saturday morning and cycled to Dover 102km, had breakfast, and then boarded the ferry for a two hour crossing to Dunkirk. Dunkirk to Brugge was up next and we got off the ferry at 3pm. Goal was to reach Brugge as early as possible and you can do this quite easily as it is mostly flat all the way. We hit a snag with about 30km to go when a friend snapped his hanger, we made the bike single speed but kept on having issues every now and then. With all the stops we arrived in Brugge at 7.30pm, booked into our accommodation, showered and went out for dinner taking in some of the sights of the beautiful town. The town square was so lively with a show on and loads of people sitting around and enjoying the summer weather. Dinner that night was great with a couple of Belgium beers and a fresh waffle to round it off. Next morning was an 8.30am start back to Dunkirk to catch the ferry home at 2pm. Challenging with our friend on a single speed but made it in good time. Lunch on the ferry and a train back from Dover home. Really beautiful cycling through the garden of England (Kent) on the way to Dover and then cycling along water canals all the way to Brugge passing through small towns. We will be doing a lot more of this over the next couple of years.
  14. Well bud do it then bud. Pretty sure you will also say the hour record is not that hard...all about gearing as well.
  15. Disappointing to get this far and not look for an alternative after all the prep, got to be somewhere in SA it is possible anyway his choice, f£&^%$% sad
  16. https://www.iol.co.za/personal-finance/expats-must-act-to-avoid-consequences-of-new-tax-law-14783867 Professional in the UK easily earns of £50k a year and will get taxed 40% on income over £46k so will this mean loosely that SARS will want another 5% of the cut to make up 45% as it is stated in the article?
  17. RA is with Allan Gray, 31 years old, closed my bank account in SA wife still has hers, no for accountant & attorney. SARS has R16k due to me and not releasing this as my tax status has changed, they indicate that I have an estate registered against my profile which is as a result of the insolvency court order, I will need a new tax number and have not earned money in RSA for two years although SARS says I should file a return with my old tax number. So back to the RA, it is only R49k so not worth paying someone more than half of it just to get Allan Gray to release the funds. Reason why I want to FE is that in the near future our dear friends at SARS will be asking all SA citizens living abroad to pay tax on the difference they are currently paying tax in the country of residence and what they would have paid in SA. Yes it is more directed at Expats working in tax havens however I do not want to wait until no.99 and have to pay a premium to do the process. RA rules only allow 3 instances where you can access your money, earliest at age 55, emigration and part of this is FE or if the value is less than R7k. I am going back to SA in two weeks time for a week so I can re-open a basic account if someone knows of a way I can get the funds out of the RA without the FE process?
  18. Need your help hubbers. I have a bit of money still stuck in a retirement annuity in South Africa as well as SARS that still owe me a bit of money. Anyone possibly have a contact whom I could use to assist me in the process getting the money into my UK account? I have contacted two firms in SA and the fees are extortionate, obviously willing to pay just not R25k
  19. He was dishonest in the sport of cycling irrespective of who has jurisdiction over the organised event. Just serve the ban as it is stipulated and don't compete or participate in an organised event, show some respect and that a lesson has been learned.
  20. Been discussed to ends length before...what do you expect when paying R330 for a full road closure event? Most organisers pay something towards the goodie bags be it water bottles or samples so that would equal a higher entry fee...I know what i would go for. Do not expect a medal as well you might be disappointed
  21. Hahaha great price....2016 models though....someone bought dead stock
  22. Do a bit a research and you will see much worse price fixing matters that affected your daily life unless all your disposable income or credit is only spent on cycling. Lets stay on topic and wait for the big Makro announcement....they might have even made a mistake and published the wholesale price in the original sms. Other question would be if Makro purchased the bikes through the correct channel, seeing as how much Omnico has invested with Cannondale over the years being the importer, I would be quite p1ssed if they started selling directly to retailers.
  23. Maybe with the Makro sms coming out, they might not even be sure or they are busy buying more stock. Not the price fixing saga again....why go there
  24. Yeah LBS's make millions....massive profit margins....best retail business to have
  25. Did this race two years ago and it was a blast. Route is fantastic and they have added and changed it as well, made it even better from what I have heard.
