  1. I really need some advice at the moment - cant decide which frame to buy! I cracked my last frame - it was an orbea mtb frame and it cracked on the right chainstay. My problem is that I bought it 2nd hand about a year ago, so no warranty So I just got a LITTLE cash and need to buy a frame - At the moment I have 3 choices: 1. Import an unbranded carbon frame - It has a warranty but it would be a mission to send it back to china etc. 2. Buy a 2nd hand alu frame (a bit cheaper) and hope it doesnt crack. 3. Buy a new alu frame locally that weighs the same as a carbon frame - Problem is that its not from a shop so no warranty either... Am I just being paranoid about the whole cracking thing? or does it happen often?
  2. There is definitely a direction on all the single track stuff.
  3. What happened?
  4. As I said on face book - I hate you!!!!
  5. Yip, uses spd cleats!
  6. They are wellgo pedals. Probably the cheapest you can buy, I bought a pair when I started using clipless pedals and I'm still riding them. I HATE them though. Worst pedals ever! The bearings are stuffed so they click constantly and even when they were new they weren't very smooth. Sometimes they also decide to not release the cleats. The tension is all over the place and I have to constantly adjust them. Horrible (worse than shimano) in mud! Bottom line : I'm waiting for someone to do a CRC order so I can get some crank bros. That said, If you are just starting out with clipless pedals, use them until you feel comfortable with the idea and then upgrade and throw these against a wall!
  7. I agree with the W and the anchor. Have some balls 'TheMac' and tell us who you really are. I hope you're ashamed of yourself now.
  8. 4. I KNOW Sram is better
  9. At the moment I have mezcals front and back ,granted they are fairly worn, but I'm not very impressed with a mezcal up front... back works quite well though.
  10. Ja, looks like a LOT of fun. Would've had to have taken my old bike tho, I value my drive train too much
  11. Wow... am I glad I decided to skip groenkloof on sunday! I think my car would have drowned!
  12. If you do get the bike, buy new pedals if you can - I have the ones that are on the bike and they are the worst pedals you can buy....I'm just waiting for some cash so I can throw them against a wall!
  13. I might be up for a ride or 2 this week...thats if this rain stops
  14. You can pretty much buy any rotors as long as they are centre lock (or buy a converter if you want) No other spacers should be needed at all. Enjoy.

    Chains

Only if you shift badly. I've carried a tool for the last 3000kms and havent snapped a chain once. I still think its a good idea to have one though.
  16. I dont know much about tyres, but you can either transfer your old cassette if its fairly light and still in good condition, or buy a xt cassette rather than sram x0. XT is lighter and cheaper.
  17. I reckon they were taken from the same direction but the set of photos without the bakkie was taken after the crash had been cleared up and the water had dried up. Look at the road and you can see the glass still lying there from where the canopy ended up.
  18. Well in my humble opinion X0 is better than xtr... so you do the math
  19. If she's the girl with a cannondale flash I'm sure you would have helped I've got quite a sexy pink jersey myself - I'll wear it next time we ride. You must see the looks other cyclists give me when I wear it
  20. Dont know if I believe that hey. I know that most of the time people who are killed in accidents lose their shoes, but often people that aren't killed also lose theirs as well. I would think thats its illegal to drive in flip flops as they can get stuck on the pedals or whatever?
