What a lekker race for mid-winter. Really enjoyed myself, unlike last year which was a sufferfest. One minor thing: is it too much to ask for organizers to make WATER AVAILABLE AT THE END? Just a bottle per person, PLEASE. I'm definitely entering then next one.
Just had a look at the "Vitality Race Calendar" and noted that not a single USN Cup or Nissan Trailseries race qualifies for cashback... In fact, the only qualifying cycle races in the 2nd half of 2016 in the Gauteng appear to be the 94.7 Road and MTB.

To be brutally honest, I'm not sure i want to support any south african tertiary student after what's happened on university campuses over the last year or so...particularly, since students are adults that can generate income by working part-time. Good luck with your journey / adventure nonetheless.
Yes, i was there before asking the question. IIRC, there was a big ruckus last year about the distance being much longer (7km) than advertised. Also, "NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Marathon The route for 2016 is still being finalised." and Ascent: Tba. but thanks anyway.
I'm in - B batch for marathon - but only if my chest clears up. Organised the whole of saturday with my missus and then my chest goes all wonky on me earlier this week. Been off the bike for a while, so will be interesting "race".
thanks for that. I've been to Tranquilitas and it ROCKS. Did not see that route when i was there...i was pressed for time tho, as i rode 30kms in and 30kms out again (both times over a huge flippin mountain). Will def check it out if ever in the vicinity again.

By receiving data from the timing company, we receive proof that the member completed the event. The number of races that we award points for depends on the timing companies that integrate with us.
OK, 1 of my uploaded Garmin rides was recognised by Disco and given 3,000 (three THOUSAND) points...my goal for the week was 200 points. So, that's 3% of my family's YEARLY GOLD TOTAL for a single ride? Anyhoo, i'm not complaining.
Gold is actually #### easy to get. Go for assorted tests at pharmacy 2 x per year. Fill in all the online assessments. Go to a dietitian. Go for a fitness assessment.
Exactly. Well put. i pay for 3 peeps on Med Aid & Vitality; 2 peeps on life insurance; 1 for income continuation; 2 for disability & dread disease; and 1 motor vehicle. Currently exploring other short-term ins options (eg household contents) but there have been hassles. That's a shedload of assorted premiums, fees and charges. PPS & Profmed would LOVE to have my business... If and when i lose my patience, ALL the above Disco business will disappear.
