  1. I am lank chilled, if a bit hungover this am. Just an observation of the nature of the interactions on this thread and my experiences of what happened in surfing. The localism and kaaak attitudes are what ruined surfing - ask the guys in "chilled / laid-back" cape town about the hectic localism along the atlantic coastline... Use it, don't use it.
  2. Yassis, some okes on this thread are sooooo TOUCHY. . Surfing went the same way - was a fringe sport with okes having a lekker jol...then, as popularity rose, it became more and more cliquey, localised and f###ing hostile to outsiders (and other surfers). Now, we have okes moering each other in the line-up over waves and damaging each other's cars in the parking lot. . The above interactions reek of the same $#it brewing in mtb - MY TRAILS, MY EVENT, INVITE ONLY, LOCALS ONLY, OUTSIDERS NOT WELCOME, BEGINNERS NOT WELCOME, ENDURO ONLY.
  3. BRRRMM...BRRRRMMMM...BAAAAAAAP!!!
  4. "You will receive the starter pack when you first join, not when you renew your membership of Team Vitality, but as a renewal member you areentitles to all discount vouchers."
  5. good article with some useful info in there. I find nutrition is the hardest part of raceday strategy to get right. . I have one question: why LOW-FAT yoghurt? Surely, you need the extra calories before a race?
  6. 2016 Aluminium Epic (with rear Brain) is RRP <ZAR40k - checked the price this week for a riding buddy who's buying one. (that's AFTER the huge price increases for 2016...)
  7. Any issues with seat-stay bridge and tyre clearance? I've heard this is a problem with wider tyres on a vipa - is it true?
  8. Is riding a PLUS bike like riding a scooter? Lots of fun until your mates see you?
  9. "Onrust" - is that near the town of "Onrus"?
  10. Until you try return them because they were manufactured so poorly that they fell apart after 1 ride (personal experience, not general judgment).
  11. That's a LOT of hard work...WELL DONE. and thumps-up for the rad video
  12. going to the fair to check them out
  13. I've ridden one of these at a test day - what a BLAST. really, this thing is a load of fun. it holds a line in a corner like nothing I've ridden. even my ham-fisted attempts to get it to skid or slide resulted in no movement from the line at all. Everyone should give this "plus" wheel formula a go before buying their next bike. PS: Scott has also launched a bunch of models like this.
  14. Yes, you are right. I don't drink soft drinks or fruit juice much. I tasted some of my daughter's Bos (regular) and thought it was a bit sweet to give to kids. The Sport is lekker and refreshing after a ride but also is too sweet (for me). I like the Bos products very much, I just wish they would reduce the amount of sugar in them. But I would still take any Bos product over a Coke.
  15. My apologies, I didn't read the table properly. It's still 6 teaspoons of sugar in 500mls - which is more sugar than I eat in a week
  16. Rooibos + water + sugar [chilled]? I like it but find it helluva sweet (32g of sugar per 100mls...)
  17. yES, IT WORKS great.
  18. don't let a minor things like facts get in the way of a good Friday rant !
  19. Spez Ground Control GRID 2.3 is indestructible. Just rode RVO on it and came back without a SCRATCH. Heavy but worth it.
  20. every loan needs to be paid back. fact.
