  1. Great SA ambassador..... I just wish the sport of ladies cycling had a bigger viwership in general. She should be a household name.
  2. Ironically depicted in their products too.
  3. Take your wheels off and lube the skewers. Ie. take the skewers right out and rub some lube on the skewer shafts.
  4. Quintana for sure?
  5. Ya, as long as you use MTB disc hubs. MTB rear frame spacing is 135mm. Road hubs are 130mm. Front bit wider too.
  6. I think you mad to be on that road on a bicycle regardless.
  7. Maybe real.... but not natural...
  8. Plus the odd tropical cyclone in summer...... but otherwise great!! On a serious note, it really gets to me what cycling repairs set people back. I know not everyone is inclined to do their own maintance, but 29er hardtail, tool kit and internet instructions off manufacturers websites are the way forward.... Even with fork services.. Go get a 5w and 15w yamalube fork oil from the local motorbike dealer. Download the Rockshox service instructions and off you go.. Theres a lady that works for me who loves mtb, but jees, i cringe when i see what the shops rip her just about every month... i just tell her to leave the bike with me every once in a while... its madness... Also, shops dont educate people about replacing your chain before everything is worn.... they leave custormers to run the same chain for many muddy miles and then sting them with a couple of grand bill for cassette, chain and chainrings.... change you chain 2 or 3 times a year and you will run the same cassette and rings for 3-4 years....
  9. Kids dont know finances... they just live in the moment! Something us adults need to learn to do. My wife and I were talking about this exact thing the other day.. To be happy, you need to live in the moment... oh... and try stay debt free!!!
  10. Will Giro be on DSTV? I see mainly ASO events only this year?

Yip... I think the bottom line is any top TDF GC contender is capable of winning cobble classics. Their focus is just on TDF. Big Jan Ulrich would have been devastating on the cobbles? Did he ever give the classics a go? LA would have been good cobble ridder? Too focused on TDF

Yes, the cobbles are the domain of the powerful riders, but as light as a TDF GC contenders are they have abnormally high power.... so top GC contenders shouldnt be too disadvantaged by the cobbles. Look at the ITT's at the TDF.... If i remember correctly Wigans and Froome have beaten the TT specialist on occation. The cobble pose high crash risk factor, i think thats more the worry.
  13. take the QR scewers out of both wheels, clean and grease and put them back... Sounds crazy, but do it.
  14. Nevermind put them on the map..Just like Ten put Pearl Jam on the map and the song "Underneath the bridge" put RHCP on the map... Deciding which is the best album is personal taste and memories... Even if you only found out about the earlier albums once they were famous....

  16. I haven't read all 8 pages, so forgive me, but has anyone suggested the new Giant Anthem 27'5". I'm a XC / marathon guy, but I'm looking for a fun bike and the Anthem 650b ticks all the boxes?
  17. Specialized should rather focus this energy and money on the fight against fakes. They should pool some resources with Pinarello, Time and the other brands that are suffering the counterfeit rot and fight it together.
  18. What is the goods description on the invoice? Was it invoiced as a Pinarello? Or, cleverly worded to protect themselves knowing it was a fake? And then there is the "he said she said"... Was the customer misled, or was the origin of the frame discussed? Thats AA's civil claim. The trade of conterfeit goods is now SARS business.
  19. How are you finding the 42 adaptor? did you have to drop the 17t from the cassette? How good or bad is it without the 17t?
  20. Jeremy and James doing what they do best!!! I wonder if they have seen the goings on in Cape Town re. bikes and cars? http://www.bikeradar...ety-film-40219/
  21. Spinning bike is excellent training. You dont neccesarily have to do a spinning class. Just use the bikes in the studio when no class is on, or the bike they put outside the studio in some Virgin Active gyms. Get on it for 40 - 45 min and make sure you sweat properly!! throw in some intervals that hurt.... You will see improvements in your riding. Then hit the dirt and fresh air on the weekends...
  22. The trick is to replace your chain before it wears. Use a Park Tool chain checker. they recomend replacing your chain when it reaches the 1.0 wear point. I change the chain when it reaches .75. this way i get about 4 chains to 1 cassette. The chainrings and cassette only start wearing as a worn / lengthened chain starts eating the teeth. So a new chain where the link gaps marry with the teeth gaps as designed, wears very slowly. If that makes any sense!!!!
  23. No objection...... works like a charm.. I'v gone full circle with chain lubes... Wax/dry lubes are clean, but wax builds up in the cassette. thick wet lubes are messy...... Motor oil is a little thinner then the "wet lubes", so it is a bit easier to clean your bike and i believe offers the bets lube for your chain.... and hence chain life..
