  1. My SunRingle hubs bearings cost R125-00 a side, thats R250-00 a wheel and that's not from CL.
  2. I rode a Commencal Super 4 Carbon and Skin HT... The Skin was extremely fast and responsive. Much like the SuperNormal I own. I really didn't now what to do with all the energy I saved riding it. It take zero effort to get it going and less to keep it going!! WOW But the Super 4 impressed me the most. On the climbs it felt like I was climbing with a HT even when standing on the pedals and it just tore up the descends. Well done to the Commencal team at their stand aswell. Service and reception was exceptional as always.
  3. My dad was also one of those on the 20km that took a wromg turn and ended up doing the 40km.... At least he got value for his money
  4. Also had the problem on my MTB. Some CLeanGreen, a toothbrush, new cable and housing and gone was the sticky FD
  5. Going to try and bring my Commencal out there tomorrow. Trails look awesome
  6. Pretoria North, Cnr of Daan de wet Nel and Bokmakierie. Situated inside the centre there. Big sign outside you cant miss it
  7. Polar RS300X. Got the whole kit with Flowlink and bikemount for about R2000. Works like magic and has all the settings you need to start of. Has a comfy strap to which makes it nice to where for long hours.

    Commencal MTB

I own a Commencal Superteam edition hardtail, best bike I have ever ridden to date. I would never buy anything else again. The guys at Commencal have given me the best service from any bike dealer. Also had a cracked frame like BumpNGrind. Called them on Saturday, had a new frame on Monday, rebuild and everything. Ran into some shifting problem 2 months back, only to discover I didn't properly clean my FD and that the casings had been word. Given it a proper clean replaced casings and cables... Gone was that problem. So far this is the only negative feedback on any Commencal I have had. Commencal IS the best. Hope your problems get solved and you get many more happy miles like we all have gotten so far.
  9. Look for the thread, it is quite new. There is a user who recieved his goods.
  10. R1's are the best, or any Formula brakes for that reason. I have the ORO's and they are fantastic. Stopping power on the R1's is insane and they wont leak for 5years the manufacturers claim...
  11. Gonna use the HDD recorder. Will just burn to DVD later... Unless a PVR suddenly appears in the TV room B)
  12. Wait till you guys see what school level rugby players are using. It is scary that their parents and coaches approve of it.... Winning isn't everything to me and I my opinion has always been that the best man will win...
  13. Ok. I want to keep the budget in mind as well
  14. I'm looking at building up a set of ZTR olympics purely for racing. what are good light weight hubs?? American Classic is very light but are they rigid enough to hold me at 68-70kg?
  15. Thanx. Will do.
  16. Where can I get a SUN-ringle equalizer rim in Gauteng area? Looking for one for my rear wheel.
  17. I've been phobic of certain dogs my whole life. Everytime a dog chases me I get an adrenalin rush and I turn ice cold. These experiences terify me. I have also gone the pepperspray route. Helps for dogs and muggers

    EPIC BIKE

That article in the RIDE is a very good source of reading. The guy sets out the cost nicely to give you a good idea of what it will cost. Talked to the owner of the LBS, he finished his 5th Epic this year in a respectable position. He says dual-sus for the average rider. Also told me to budget for a lot of spares, new cables everyday or every second day, new chain and cassette before the start of the Epic and a new set after. Budget for a few tyres during the race. The RIDE article sums it up good. I think it is worth the cost to buy a proper bike, since you are going to be spending a lot of time before and during the Epic on it.
  19. You can check out http://www.commencal.com/news/bicycles_2010/commencal_bicyles_2010_en.htm for 2010 bikes and specs. Contact user JLDAM on the Hub. He is from Commencal
  20. Commencal Skin 2 if your lokking for Carbon Fibre frame. Else the Commencal Premier Deluxe. Cost about R15 0000 for premier, weighs 11.2kg
  21. I think that is best. I rather play it safe
  22. I entered through the same procedure. It should give you the option to buy a day license from the same place as the number board, but don't see it there. My dad has never bought a day license, so I would worry about it...
  23. I'm riding in an Accu-Chek kit on a white Commencal. I have junior racing license, you can pay for your license when you enter. If they didn't present that option, just tell them you assumed it wasn't neccessary...
  24. Also F-bunch on the 40km
