  1. Very important question POPEYE, our province raised the same issue last week in a letter to CSA/Lawrence, its almost too late again(to prepare) and its right here in SA!
  2. I think Breeze is on the junior commission??
  3. About Jake White being the next CSA president/coach/manager??
  4. True him and Sylvia left early. But it wasnt an AGM. Next meeting at 94.7 to finish and meet with disgruntled provinces.
  5. The Daikin guys have been riding in different kit for at least 2 years now. Jan W won SA's riding his then clubs kit, Club 100, and the next week he will ride Daikin, at a PPA race, where they didnt worry about kit. Now if you have a full licence you may ride SA's but cant ride any kit in a race, only whats on your licence, clubkit or registered sponsor. I take out Cyclosport, can ride any kit in league, and if I decide to go to SA's, I upgrade and race in my clubkit. But then after SA's I have 2 licences, the cyclosport, and the upgrade, so I will use the old one and ride any kit again.
  6. I'll be on the bench with her. We are both impact players, and when we come on with things hanging in the balance, few minutes to spare, we're the best to finish off the job at hand. She is also good with the classic up-and-under, or under the high ball. I'm not too sure about the latest rules?? May she go down with the ball when Im on top of her, or must she stay on her knees? I dont want us to get blown up too much, esp in the bottom 25 of the field. We'll have too stay disciplined and avoid mistakes, but sometimes she loses her(my) head, esp when the moment get too big for her. Its the 1st time she will be on the bench for a final. Its crunchtime.

Werksredes? Wil Chris snr op vakansie gaan?
  9. Brandon, and the rest of the road season for David?
  10. Frensch?? Where did Toyota say that? Ex Barloworld riders? Perry,, George, Kannemeyer?
  11. Toyota starting a pro team, not sure if its with Cyclelab. Some ex Harmony guys talking to them. I hope mike S gets a ride, he improved a lot this year. And some top girls like Cherise, Marissa, Yolande?? going to MTN.(rumour). And that junior Botha(Tekton ) wanted to go to Konica. MTN losing Impey to Barloworld, what is Lange doing? Is he retiring?
  12. what about smallblock8
  13. So last nite I bumped into Lawrence and guess what...he reads the Hub. I stuttered a bit when his opening line was about my postings but we had a nice chat. He's a good guy but has no clue of whats going on. Didnt even know that his statements contradicted Bellairs. I also told him what I think of the office and the smoking. I heard a birdie that sylvia Dale got another job offer. I think his problem with Carinus was that he must support the board that appointed him, not talk against them. So if you work for a company, do you listen to the boss or the client? And if the client complains, do you critisize the boss/es? The other problem that the board has is that we, the cyclists nominate people on commissions and selection panels, and if those people we nominated do a *** job, thats what he sits with. I agree, we must nominate better people.
  14. So he is basically saying Bellairs made a f**kup. And Bellairs denies anything went wrong.
  15. September 4 - Message from Vice President regarding Worlds Selections There has been speculation of improprieties in the selection procedure of the ladies team to represent South Africa at the World Championships in Stuttgart. Cycling SA has satisfied itself that the processes leading up to the selection were indeed correctly adhered to and reaffirm its support for the original team as selected. As part of the ongoing process of improving all systems and procedures within Cycling SA, we are ensuring that constant reviews are undertaken in order that we remain compliant with a selection process that is both fair and transparent. Our thanks and gratitude are extended to the selectors involved for the time, effort and commitment shown. DAVID BELLAIRS VICE-PRESIDENT CYCLING SOUTH AFRICA
  16. August 12 - President's Newsletter October 2007 As many of you will know, I have been in Greece on holiday over the last 3 weeks and I can thoroughly recommend the Greek Islands for cycling! However, I was most dismayed and disappointed at the complete debacle around the selection of our teams for the World Championships, in my absence. I fail to understand how the selection process can have gone so completely skewed bearing in mind we have a complete set of instructions on how our Commissions and selection panels are supposed to work. As so often is the case, it seems some folk only resort to the instructions "when all else fails". Apologies are definitely owing to the cycling fraternity at large as well as certain individuals. 17. And if anyone beat France in the world cup they will be treated like an American winning the Tour. What if an All Black test positive in the quarter final, then the French will go through anyway
  18. Lawrence Mbeki- the clever one not in contact with people on the ground Rasta Zuma- the naughty one thats got contact with the normal people Re mr Bellairs. He needs a position as sponsor getter. He's got moerse connections with sponsors. Part of the reason he went to SElati was to ride with Jacques, the dude from MTN, as they are getting more involved with sponsoring of cycling. We need someone at CSA to look after the sponsors and I think he is the best. He is the ouk thats been looking after Pick n Pay for all the years. And i dont think he gets what the soccer guys gets. But if he gets a freebee at a race to ride with a major sponsor then its good. REmember 180, the SElati organisers also puts money into SA cycling, why cant they invite a few VIP types? I also rode on a freebee, were in discussions to have a similar tour in the Boland area and the best times to talk is after the 1st botle of red. But we paid our own flights, accomodation, and liquor. But i also paid my own flights to Bloem for road SA's as chairman of our province, so if I get a free entry its not a problem for me. A bit off the point, but just wanted to defend that pink vice a bit. How do you people find the service from the office, do you think we need changes there? (this is thin ice)
  19. You can ask your province to note a vote of NO Confidence in anyone elected by the provinces. Get the person/s out. Illl check the constitution.
  20. Ja, its a bit close to home this one. I think people at the top want Carinus out. Im not sure if they can fire him so you just make live miserable for him. They are also cutting him out of the loop at the moment. Rumour has it that yesterday there was a IT meeting where Carinus wasnt invited to. Guess who went (according to my source)? Whittaker's son ,that now works for TREBLE the commercial partner that CSA signed on! So they are trying to find stuff against him. Apparently he insulted Lawrence at a meeting at CSA offices, and someone there told.He also tried to improve the runnings of the road commission just after the whole Ronel v Wyk thing. The road commisioner maybe didnt like that, I dont know. And then he went to SElati, and Dome 2 Dome the next day. Theres a problem with a plane ticket CSA paid for back from Dome(not up to SElati). But maybe CL thought he must be at the only UCI event on our one day calender. Lots of sh*t, but I thought things got moving a bit. But if they tie your hands, you cant do your job. The problem is that you have people with moerse ego's at the top, they dont like critisism, and they wont like this post. But I am in cycling voluntarily, no one can fire me. Oh yes, and I have a vote at the next election, for my province so maybe I can fire someone.
  21. sa road in may
  22. Maybe you have another big race in 3 days time. Rather stop and rest for that. Some also had a job to do for the team and then they can pack up. There's no honour for Voeckler finishing somethingb like that, only honour is a good result. THis is not the Argus for a funrider. Lapped riders will be called off, thats less than 30min in a 270km race!
  23. ja can you bring one over
  24. Best SA result by faaar David was less than a minute down on bettini in group that sprinted for 14th place. The rest of the elites incl Impey packed. Well done David, confirmed you're a great talent, pity it couldnt get applied better in Europe. Cape Town based rider, interesting. So do you need to be in Jhb to improve. I think David trains very hard, races from time to time and gets form. I hope Impey is still positive about next year with Barloworld after the shock today, he was in really good shape in SA. Interesting that Thor Hosvovd, the big sprinter from Norway and Zabel got over the steep climbs to finish in same group as David??? How can Thor be a good climber, compared to Darren, Impey and others. OK I wasnt there, just commenting from results. I guess it was the distance, not the steep climbs that got to our guys. But well done anyway, if we send a team they get critisized, if they dont send a team they'll get critisized.
  25. But no one can tell PPA's blond anything. A real headmaster.
