  1. i'm wondering what the start sequence will be. can't find much on the website
  2. would like to see what the route will look like. just glad they're not cancelling the race.
  3. could probably do some more when it comes to bike maintenance, but i'm too damn lazy for it and prefer to outsource.
  4. went past the piece of the N7 that's part of the race route and the roadworks are still going there with one lane closed to traffic. sent an enquiry to the 99er organisers and I got a very quick response: Hi, we’ve been in constant communication over the last week with the Western Cape Roads department, National Traffic as well as the contractor himself. Our first priority is to look after the cyclists safety. We have further calls scheduled this afternoon with the authorities where we should know more. Further communication regarding the N7 will follow soon to all entrants.
  5. This year I have the simple aim of finishing the event without incident. Had a horror show last year with 3 punctures and in 2017 I crashed, but managed to finish.
  6. my weekend's rides are showing. today's is half showing - on the main screen i've achieved my weekly goal, but when going on the vitality tab it shows not achieved. guess the work is in progress still.
  7. went onto the site now and they say that they are aware of the Active Rewards points not showing and that "they're working on it". This was dated the 12th, so I guess they'll attend to it after the long weekend. Possibly.
  8. so i've done two acivities over the weekend and none of them are showing on discovery. anyone else have that issue?
  9. yes, you keep a PPA number for the season (July 2019 to Jul 2020) - this will be for all PPA events. some races, particularly "premier seeding events", tend to have one-off race day numbers. if you don't have a racetec chip, you'll need one and it'll be your permanent chip.
  10. ah no David! what the heck happened? nvm, just hope you can get your bike back.
  11. sounds great, some new roads for me
  12. so far I have: A 0-15 B 15-20 C 20-25 D 25-29 E 29-34 Any how, I probably belong in F somewhere, so E will do fine for me. I wonder why they decided to change the limits of the groups instead of just reverting to the old winning times and betas of the other races.
  13. i'm glad they sorta sorted this seeding thing out. will want to know what the limits of the other groups are now.
  14. i've done trickier descents, but perhaps not in an MTB race. they've cleaned up that tricky corner that follows the rock slab, it's still tricky though.
  15. yep i dropped down two groups as well. what has happened?
  16. the penalty shows up on the MTB seeding and not on the Road seeding. any how, best to contact Janine at Racetec, she is the most helpful: Janine de Vries Race Office Assistant RaceTec Event Technology (PTY) LTD. RSA Tel: 087 820 7223
  17. Some more pics before i have to leave. Keep going FRAIL and Idris. FRAIL is taking a bit of strain...
  18. FRAIL has seven laps to do until hos Everest. i guess that puts him on 45 right now...
  19. yes he got it sorted. I'm quite impressed in how he did it with just a multi tool and lotsa savvy.
  20. FRAIL after his 3rd pitstop. a bit of a long one to get his 68 tooth chainring working again
