  1. Lat years winners, history of winning the event. Its normal and expected as they are pinned to win again. As with any previous years race winner for a race or tour.
  2. Seems like no matter what company sponsors cycling people aren't happy....
  3. Hahaha, I think that other method is actually more beneficial! I agree totally that it is concerning, but then look at who is punting it and who isn't. Respected people in the field ie: Dr VZ critique it and naturally so, he is world class at what he does. Dr Swart, same thing and and. Take it where is comes from.
  4. It is very common and a real problem within Elite level sport. Especially after a huge event like Olympics. Its not pressure as mentioned here, its another element entirely. Add eating disorders and the likes.
  5. No real turn around, just stated a fact then which people couldnt handle and I didn't log on cause it was pointless trying to get facts across that weren't happening. So from that I was out and got rid of the account. Had to create this account due to content we were asked to provide for the forum and site. Here we are.
  6. They not illegal - no needle policy yes but they are legal and if you stupid enough to think that will make any difference to anything you do performance wise then you deserve to lose your money when you pay.
  7. When I googled Cblake I got a picture of a average athlete sitting at a desk for 12hrs bored in front of a keyboard. Anyway, pleased to meet you. But being serious here, only thing I am important to is my Bullterrier and that is dependent on his mood.
  8. Sorry Bro though you knew? I won't mentioned Santa than either.
  9. I agree with a lot of what you say, I really do but the overall view from public vs actuality is often very different and that is yes, maybe cause info, facts and knowledge isn't freely available (for reasons) one is left to make up their own minds based off what is available. that is totally natural. I don't know what the answer is, I also am not sure there is one as some info is private for many reasons, often for the better but it leaves that self diagnosis which is often dangerous. Athletes / people will always cheat, that is human nature but I will say that things are not like they were back then regardless of current positives and the likes, there will always be those few but it is harder now. Cycling also is actually and believe it or not, one of the cleaner sporting codes when you look at test vs positive ratio. The issue is that with cycling its spat all over the news due to the history. In a way its good cause they not hiding things. Anyway, I need to try get 7 guys at Tirreno- Adriatico to do a TTT in the rain at 14:55 (15:55 SA Time) and run but thanks all for the chat and shout for the team!! (shout nice things though) over n out.
  10. Thats why every person in this world is unique, you have your views and beliefs that I will respect and then, I have mine. I will stand firmly on my statement above for many reasons. On a side question which is addressed to a few of you with a similar view: Why are you even watching, following and the likes of bike racing if this is the view you have? Should you not then find something else you "believe" in? Not a jab, a genuine question. Like for arguments sake I think WWF wrestling is a fake show and for that I don't follow or watch it.
  11. Its not just a value like a HCT of 45% there a lot of other markers that are used.
  12. No one in SA is running a 100k + euro program in SA to beat the passport. sanctions in SA have come off passport data.
  13. Agree on points above but I don't actually know why it isn't public who is or isn't on a passport locally I would only presume on a personal protective right or something. I know of my athletes. If Spur kids want someone to look up its Allan or Matt for example I will put everything I own on them being clean and they are destroying basically everyone on a bike road or MTB. So yes, there are riders who you can look up to and show you can win clean.
  14. Probably go better on the E-bike bud - I would suggest that.
  15. Just cause someone doesn't put on SM they getting tested doesn't meant they not. Beers was tested - blood and urine every single day for a week, he never posted it on SM so did it not happen? It happened. Another female the other day, 9:30pm at night, happened. No public post. Those old TDF rider can ride bikes, dope or not, they didn't take dope and the only reason why they rode Tour. They that 1% not the 99% of us or who want to. Im not defending any of them or the system - believe me Im not, Im just putting some corrected info for all going forward to use as reference, but what I am saying is that the general publics perception of the complete system is skewed somewhat. I was the same years back until things, environment and education changed for me. Its no one faults and history is there - in full force - I understand that but today is not 10 or 15yrs ago and a lot has changed (150cc vs 500cc). Is it perfect? NO it's not, same as the oke who calls in a favor to get a better seeding for Argus to ride a better time in a faster group. Same thing. Riders have been sanctioned on the passport it does work, does it work every single time? No not always but it takes time to get a profile. Sometimes years. The sport is a lot cleaner now than it was, people will always cheat its life and people are trying to fight the fight of it but sometimes its not the easiest and not everyone doing it is corrupt.
  16. I can't really tbh, not that I don't want to but can't. But yes there are changes, not only in numbers - often which are very small btw. That myth of going from 300 - 400W in a week is a load of bull and a total myth the public who have NO idea believe. But other areas also, some mentioned above. Ive been doing this a a very long time Im not a fool there is no hindsight looking back.
  17. Yes, you know that as well as I do. There is a lot Obviously cannot say for certain reasons which I hope you respect and understand. Sad case of events but was handled professionally, stupid case of desperation. My view is pretty simple on it.
  18. CT is cheap for accommodation, roads are good and the weather is incredible over their base/prep period. It beats riding in 0 degrees and rain. That is why they come here to train, or they go to AUS or Colombia. Yes, Bloem was closed but it doesn't mean that cause its closed there is no testing, the samples are sent to the next closest lab which would be Dubai for example. Nothing changes, no coincidence. International athletes get tested here, its a fact, samples are sent to Lab for analysis. Don't believe all the **** you read by the twitter troll brigade who factuate "facts on inside info" about everything doping related. You guys are better than this.
  19. You will see almost no progress in 4 weeks, often you may see a regression in form due to being on a program. 3 months is typically the period you will see a very small change in fitness. I can't comment on his feedback etc but TSS scores are just that, an indication don't chase tss, don't use that as a holy grail metric for training. However, if you not hitting targets set out and they are simply out of reach, then you need to adjust values. Indoor vs outdoor you will typically see a 10% variance in power, What power meter are you using to record power? Kikr? PM on bike? Are they calibrated correctly? Rollers? You will never hit and sustain big values on those. small things need to be accounted for but sounds like something is a miss here between both of you. You paying for a service, doesn't matter if it is a R5000 or R500 a month program, prescription has to be correct and values to track and monitor. If not, you both wasting time. I would make contact with the coach and respectfully air your concerns and take it from there. if you not happy, move on and get the service you wish for, you deserve it and don't label all coaches with the same brush after this experience. If you need some advice please feel free to message me. John
  20. You go from Watts (hi cadence value) to NM of torque (Low cadence) as a value.
  21. they shall be forthcoming
  22. By pure chance of events I will actually be at P-R due to having to recon the TDF TT route the week before. This is 1 of biggest stoke vibes I have so far.
  23. If he/she uses a base template then sometimes a name is missed when using it but it doesn't mean you got J Smith's program. However, there is also a strong possibility you did.
