  3. Nice, flyfishing is ubber relaxing...lots of nature and taking in sights, sounds and smells. Even a crap day ito fish is a good day on the water of you know what i mean Ok on to your question....equipment wise, you really dont need the best of the best to start. Technique and knowledge is far more important than the latest sage rod. In gauteng you can hit some stockie trout ponds all around the cradle are. But know this, stockie bashing will loose its flavour very quickly. You will then turn to yellowfish on the vaal. Below the barage(on the barage road) there are lots of venues....geelvis paradys, silwerstrome, arendsnes, eendekuil....all the way to parys(elgro river lodge). The nice thing about fishing for yellows is that you actually have to understand your quarry, at first they seem ubber hard to catch, because you are probably using troot tactics and beautifull river runs through it casts...yellows laugh at this. You need to do a bit of homework on the topic and if you can get someone with knowledge to show you the ropes. As for kit...5 weight, 9,5 - 10 ft, floating line(get the best you can afford), roll of maxima green to tie leaders and a roll of 3x tippet should be ok for now. Don't spend big money on a reel, they just hold line...
  4. Nice...good venue that... PS, I don't normally share my spots, but if you go around the corner there on the right of you photo there is a small set of rapids....FISH IT, lots of gold there...no muddies. Then on the total opposite side of the vaal bank where you fishing(not the islands in between) there is also good fish that don't see flies alot. Suspect its because of the extensive wading required...but totally worth it. Micro nymph under thing-a-ma-bob floater(tippet to fly of about 15cm) and drift through the eddies and next to the bank...BOOOM. Oh and chuck line out before drift is totally done...they almost always take on swing...nice baetis hatching imitation and behavior of hatching

  12. yip agree....I tilt the jug a bit and hit the milk with the steam at an angle....just below the surface. Then it makes that sound....and yes, fine fine foam...roll and moer...pour.
  13. ja ja...let them laugh, my wife did the same...lekker blerrie snaaks UNTIL you make one, that is perfect and they take a sip, then its... "honey, pls my usual". She is now such a coffee snob, sending coffees back at places saying its not right, the shot is sour etc etc.
  14. I am deffos gonna try that, eventhough I like the milk I produce, took a bit of time to get right, to my liking at least. Used about 7 jersey cows worth a day at one stage...but hey, the oke that helped me showed me the blixem and roll thing...also it seems that I cooked the milk sometimes...then its buggerup
  15. tip of the day....great result will try myself
  16. No hairy that sleeve thing is die grootste lot *** onder die son....I ride the lightning...no nozzle. Makes a fine pea shooter though Bare or bloots is the way forward on our machines
  17. Lekker man dips The hard part for me is consistency ito shot quality....frothing, piece of tekkie. Fill jug to half, wait till steam is properly going, quickly insert nozzle, just stretch and air small bits...then when milk is warm, blixem jug on granite top to get rid of biggish bubbles, roll the milk, blixem again, roll some more, give one last hard blixem... Silk comes out of jug....lekker micro bubble smoofness
  18. Cmon, give us more than that, Give me a break down of how you pull your shots...basket size?, tamping pressure? Grind?
