  1. ja ja...let them laugh, my wife did the same...lekker blerrie snaaks UNTIL you make one, that is perfect and they take a sip, then its... "honey, pls my usual". She is now such a coffee snob, sending coffees back at places saying its not right, the shot is sour etc etc.
  2. I am deffos gonna try that, eventhough I like the milk I produce, took a bit of time to get right, to my liking at least. Used about 7 jersey cows worth a day at one stage...but hey, the oke that helped me showed me the blixem and roll thing...also it seems that I cooked the milk sometimes...then its buggerup
  3. tip of the day....great result will try myself
  4. No hairy that sleeve thing is die grootste lot *** onder die son....I ride the lightning...no nozzle. Makes a fine pea shooter though Bare or bloots is the way forward on our machines
  5. Lekker man dips The hard part for me is consistency ito shot quality....frothing, piece of tekkie. Fill jug to half, wait till steam is properly going, quickly insert nozzle, just stretch and air small bits...then when milk is warm, blixem jug on granite top to get rid of biggish bubbles, roll the milk, blixem again, roll some more, give one last hard blixem... Silk comes out of jug....lekker micro bubble smoofness
  6. Cmon, give us more than that, Give me a break down of how you pull your shots...basket size?, tamping pressure? Grind?
  7. liewe aarde H, ek moes n traan of twee wegpik.
  8. Boom this just happened, the guy on lepels is on fire

  10. Baie drankie meneer "TRANSKAROO.....bring haar huistoe!" man what a line
  11. I think herman somebody wrote it, dunno if he made it famous though
  12. Jis meneer, you know you stuff....a while ago I google making my breville grinder, grind finer and yes I got the steps and photos on how to do it from coffeegeek. I must just do it now....
  13. I actually got them with my purchase...so didnt need to source elsewhere. Maybe contact breville in cpt, they might be able to hook you up
  14. heheheh sure, it was the best way I could describe the force I am using.
  15. yep, got 2 single and 2 double wall baskets...obviously for each shot size
  16. hairy on our machines I fill the basket to the brim, actually a little "mountain" on top. Then apply force with one hand, the force is about the same as if I had to lift myself out of a chair with my one hand from a desk....if that makes sense...I got now clue about weight per square inch. That gives me the best results and the best pour...
  17. Ah, but as I mentioned earlier...the built in grinder is hond at best. Its already at its finest setting so I don't really have an but to tamp moer hard. But thanks for the tips, deffos will try it. I am suspecting some channeling though as you mentioned. Oh and yes. it does a pre-infusion cycle...so taking that out of the equition my flow time is around 19-23 seconds depending how hard I tamp...moer hard obviously giving me 24 seconds of flow.
  18. Not complicated at all....admin yes. But then variables that determine the taste are much easier to change. Just depends if its your cup of tea(grappie hoor) or not
  19. Mine came with the machine...to be honest, I dont know where you can buy them
  20. As soon as I press the 2 cup button....so yes that maybe explains the time diff. I know the machine does like a pre soak of the grind, but that is at worst 3-4 seconds. So lets say its about 19-24 seconds of coffee flow.
  21. yea, the shots are as good, if not better(maybe because I know what I like in a shot lol) that ones pulled with the same beans through machines worth 100 gorillas. Its a little german tank that thing, just churns out shots day in, day out. I have the one with the grinder built-in, I won't lie, the grinder is pretty kuk, you really need to fiddle to get the right coarseness and it goes out every now and again. The preset doser is also a joke...its pretty random. But it gets me by. What is quite nice on my machine is the little pressure guage, it is very consistent(maybe not accurate, but consistent is more important), when I hit 12:30 on its dial, I know the shot will be awesome, and that it will run for 27 seconds....everytime.
  22. Nice hairy, I have its bigger brother and manage to get an awesome shot.... I suspect the two actually use the same pump so with that in mind... 1.ALWAYS run an empty or blank before pulling one through grind, warms cup and basket as well as ensure more stable temp in water 2.DONT USE DOUBLE WALL BASKETS 3.Grind must be set to fine...as in espresso fine 4.Fill basket to the top, and tamp MOER hard, forget what the instructions say 5.Your pour should be around 23-27 seconds, time it 6.Enjoy
  23. Original by doc watson Mastered by rice PS that acoustic guitar played by tony rice is revered as the whole grail ito tones. Doesnt get much better than that
