  1. oh of course, you not a FF if you havent done the vaal shuffle....the only difference is you will live if you get a mouth full of orange, verdict is still out on vaal. some nasties in there lately
  2. you wade in the vaal(knee to waist deep)....you dont fish from the bank. So its you and all your kit in the water for about 6-7 hours. The kit will get wet dunked, scraped on rocks, hit branches the whole day. There will be lots as in LOTS of hookups on rocks putting lots of strain on the equipment....remember you are nymphing / hi sticking and not casting, hence the 10ft is a non neg for the vaal. My beautifull sage stuff stays locked for small stream fishing...like the witte in the photos from the previous page. PS also you are hooking seriously strong fish....SM and LM yellows rev...and rev for long.
  3. Stealth magnum 10 ft 5wt is my go to for the vaal....http://stealth.co.za/magnum/ I paired it with this...http://stealth.co.za/stealth-reels/bluewater/ again good quality reel with proper drag that you WILL need for yellows. Its long enough, good enough(ito weight and quality) and most importantly cheap enough. I aint bringing my sage rods and reels near the vaal...its simply to heavy(wear and tear) for them.
  4. man Will only travel for small stream fishing like that....looks proper DJR
  5. no man, play the long troll, argue a bit...tune him his bike is hondnaai and sy ding skiet vim and then out troll the long troll.
  6. what if you ride both....awrmegawd, is that like dividing by zero or something.
  7. If you go to one of the local nissan races....almost everyone...and then some
  8. ja that old law of diminishing returns....again value is relative. One also have to ask why is there hype and name around something. A ferrari / merc / datsun champ will all get you from A to B.
  9. Maybe...look the rand is nailing us...no two ways. Also Niner isn't exactly giant(no offense to giant owners they are great bikes). You will always pay more for the niche brands. Value is mos maar relative. I will never be able to afford the shoot the lights out model....but if I had they money, boom I would get one.
  10. I think you would need to take a single model from a manufacturer to do the comparison. Like an sworks epic / anthem / scalpel, look at comparitive pricing over years.
  11. I like that approach, a good performing suspension is more important than the extra cage
  12. doesnt work, I tried....if anything is becomes prettier
  13. Cheese and rice that be nice
  14. shot and exactly what I did in my order....I filled it with a parktool nylon hammer, some quicklinks and shimano bleed cup thingamabob. great minds.. will give feedback on my camo attempt and see if my package goes though in stealth mode

  21. Heritage day celebration at work so our team decided instead of dressing up we gonna make food...here is the menu, all home made Putu pap & maas Braai vleis + stywe pap, sheba or chakalaka Melktert en koeksisters
  22. Veels geluk liewe laansie omdat jy verjaar! Kap hom flou...treat yourself to 3 bloodbags tonight
  23. Yip, have to share this little nugget. So obviously I wanted to have a spin on the new stage max last weekend and trailhead was hosting a demo day for Pyga, so me and mackie decided we will go for a lekker spin on the spruit on ours whilst sommer testing the new models. So arrive on the spruit and asked Pat if my suspension bolts are torqued correctly after I fiddled, he felt and re-adjusted them for me showing me the right torque...he then noticed my pascoe frame was still shipped with the lightweight alu bolt on the main pivot...immediately asked hayden for a new bolt, and replaced there and then at no cost. So here is a world class bike designer sitting and wrenching okes bikes....don't see that too often. That right there is where I got a world of respect for the man. Big up Everyone wants to talk bikes with the man so it must get boring for him after a while, yet he gives everyone same attention. Oh and they make stupid cool videos
  24. Yea the newer ones have the little hole and grommet you describe. Honestly can't see the pyga okes having a problem with it but just make sure and check with them. You might also need another hole to tap a bracket in for routing cause it might cause cable rub if you don't. Give them a call and ask for Pat, very accommodating fellow...not often you can speak to the guy that designed your bike edit...I can send you a pic of the positions(hole for routing and brakcet) on my pascoe, I don't think it will be different on the 110
  25. Awesome vid....again
