  1. Mag is better this month, but how is it that the same guy got the Sunglasses as last month, for the same tip/suggestion made in last month's magazine.
  2. hi This is not something to play around with. Where are you based - if in Pretoria, I'd like to refer you to someone great Send me a PM if you wantTrapper2009-10-18 13:01:29
  3. I'm doing my first night ride on Saturday (Telkom night ride). I've bought two lights, one with 3W LED (200 lumen) which works great Bought another (BBB) that uses a normal torch-like globe (4.8V and 0.5A...2.4W?) I want to find an alternate globe for this unit. Is there a cryptonite, or LED-type light that will just fit into the globe fitting, or am I asking for too much? Thanks
  4. Congrats and well done, you beauty. Looks like most guys recognize you on the hub. We other ouks will recognise you on the bike at the races! Well done, en RY DAAI DING!!
  5. Awesome place. Honing your MTB skills here is just LEKKA! and you can pop around to the Fountains side of things without extra fees. Well done to the management of the place. I see they now tackled Klapperkop as well, so that is going to give us some more riding haven
  6. Good on you my friend. You did the right thing. But I understand your fear of the guy returning. So keep the paintballs in the fridge, just in case.
  7. Oh - and I heard that tehre are some studies indicating a link between eye-failure and fructose. So be careful of too much. They say 1 teaspoon-full a day is OK, but more may cause problems on the long run.
  8. Hi I'm diabetic Type 1 (Insulin dependant) so the energy drink is a bit more critical for me, as wrong mixes can really mess up my sugar levels during and after a race/practice session. I've used the USN Cyto Power for some time, and was OK, but not too great. Then switched to USN Octance - massive improvement. Used their Energy Gels (definitely the best tasting of all I've EVER tried) when energy levels got low towards the end of a long ride. I've now moved to Enduren. GREAT AND AWESOME!!! A normal person's blood sugar hovers between 4-6mmol. I've now had long races, where my sugar levels are constantly around 6. that is AWESOME. I still carry the PVM Octane Energy Gels, but i've not used one in months. What is great about the Enuren is that it does not have any artificial sweeteners, and basically tastes like water, just a bit sweet. With all the others I found the taste sometimes causes slime and mucus. One uses 50g per 750ml, works out to R6.80/750ml bottle.
  9. HALLO THERE!!! I greet the dogs first - some of them look much more vicious than the owners Seriously, in Pretoria, 90% of us greet one-another - even on the other side of the double-carriageway. When we thin-wheel on the tar, or thick-wheel in the bush. I've also got the habit to greet the pedestrians - never know when they will help when I'm stuck in the middle in the bush. OK, and GOODnight to all of you
  10. Awesome news - Thanks!
  11. Nothing better than disks But make & Model matters Setup matters Bleedin' Bleeding correctly matters Unless you're back in the dark ages. I've got Magura Louise, with 180/130 rotors. Set it up, bled it once. Never touched it again for nearly a year now... well, unless I need to brake, then i touch them lightly
  12. Thanks Procrates - lots of info there, but cannot see the workshop manual yet... I'll keep looking. But thanks again, much appreciated.
  13. I've got a Marzocchi Bomber All Mountain 2 Fork. It gives intermittent problems on the TST2 (Lockout) side, and had it to the LBS a couple of times. I want to service it myself and repair the lockout function, which is not working too great. I've stripped it down, but cannot get into the TST2 cartridge. I've got an exploded diagram of the whole schock, but it is not clear on this part. Is there anyone who can help with finding a workshop manual for this schock? I do most of the work on my bikes myself, but I need the manual to win this one, it seems.
  14. Thanks Cassie, Maybe I'll try it in one wheel first and see which is better
  15. Hi I'm still running tubes, and had Nobby Nic front and rear, but with slime in the tubes. When I changed to Nevegals, Each Nobby Nic had at least 35 thorns, although i never had a flat. My question: what is the real value of going tubeless: It cannot be the puncture resistance, so is it the lower weight, or the lower pressure. If any of the last, does the lower pressure not result in higher rolling resistance?
  16. Hi As far as i know it cannot be done. Training plans for the 600 series only.
  17. Hi the burning trick works (used it many times to 'fix' car brake-shoes when the seals would leak). Also, as long as it is mineral, you ought to be OK. Redone my Magura more than a year ago with substitute, and no problems.
  18. I've got Magura Louise on my MTB, and AWESOME, is all I could say. (Stuff's got 5 year warranty against any leakage...). I use a simple trick (found it in Bicycling Mag) to align the caliper: fit a visite card (the one that sales people always hand out with their contact detail) over the disk, between the brake pads and the calipers. Then squeez the brakes while tightening the bolts as per the instruction. I found to be effective. But then again, I hardly have to calibrate mine...did so the other night for the first time in probably 8 months
