  1. You guys must enjoy! Would have loved to be there... Really need time on the road bike, will suffer a bit adjusting in 2 weeks time.

Read an interesting article about the RB car seemingly having some trickery up it's sleeve. They're not claiming it to be illegal, but interesting engine mappings and blowing exhausts...
  3. Great shot Happy!
  4. Now that you've tried that, I second DaddyG's post. ODI lock-on's. You can thank us later. Edit: I used to swear by ESI grips untill I found this...

That may be so... but Marquez is only 20! That's where both he and Vettel are so amazing. At only 26 (and heading for a 4th title), Vettel has 6 years on the likes of Alonso and Kimi.
  7. Not quite on for me to do that. For the price of new Anthem X frame, I need to sell my HT for almost what I bought it just to break even on an Anthem X 1. (Plus then I don't have a frame to potentially turn into SS... sooometime in the future.) The Momsen DL9's I think cost even more for the full bike (which you can't get any more, but you can get a frame - go figure) so that option will leave me totally up sheet creek.

Ja, but they doin't have a Newey designed car in front of the boot! As for the drivers: Alonso is very good, I agree. To year after year pull that Ferrari into contention takes some doing. Always have been a Kimi fan (even when he drove for McLaren - incredible but true!) and really rate him as a driver. Whether he's got the feedback capabilities of an Alonso or Vettel is open for debate. Hamster not too shabby. Button lucked into a WC with Brawn's early-season dd loophole, really do not think he's as good. Maybe smooth and good on tyres, but that's that. Even that in the current tyre era where he should have had an advantage because of his driving style, he's not shining. Vettel does not get the praise he deserves because it's a Newey car. It takes good feedback, good driving and good car management to win races. In my mind it's no coincidence that things on his car simply don't break as much, even though he's going faster. Just think back to how the likes of Mansell broke cars... Not the same way de Crasheris did, but still... Anyways, that's my opinions. Oh, and Marquez rocks! That kid deserves all praise he gets. I do not think Pedrosa saw this coming...
  9. I am looking to build current HT parts over on dualie. I'm reasonably convinced that I am going to go for a Anthem X 29 frameset, having listened to some people and read some reviews, etc. Don't think there's much else that can match up or are available in framesets. Spez, Rocky, etc all seem to have a top-of-the-line-carbon-framset as their only frameset option. Other options are Momsen DL and I presume Scott will be an option as well. Much as I'd love one, I am pretty sure Dale frames will be a bit steep and then you'll very likely feel obliged to add a lefty as well. Aware of Booth and BSR, but... not entirely comfortable with what may be backup/support/warrantee issues should it be required. Did I miss an option you guys are aware of? (Unfortunately SC is not quite an option... ) Have I missed something important? Should I look harder at something like Scott? Opinions?

Serious show of force. But man, that start of Alonos was absolutely unreal! Biggest BS was that Webber apparently received a grid penalty for the next race for being given a lift by Alonso?! If that IS so, that's just plain crazy. They're killing the sport with rules. On a side-note, Italy was the first time I saw F1 in HD - what an experience. But wow... this night race just made it so much more spectacular!
  11. Sorry, for the hijack... but due to the positive Momsen feedback, I would like to ask something else. Looking at dualie framesets - and two of the options I am wondering about is Momsen DL9 vs Giant Anthem X. Love the look of the Momsen, but the Giant does come highly advised, esp ito their suspension. Some intersting small diffs in geo between the two as well. FWIW - another slightly more expensive possibility is SC Superlight, but know very little to nothing about that bike specifically. Any opinions?
  12. Nice bib Jorsie, what padding do they come with?! Integrated shoes* and all... *carbon fibre soled option available - ask your closest dealer Quite apt for Cape riding of late. (Sorry, it's Friday... )

Somewhat O/T, but I nearly wetted myself laughing today. Read a review and one guy mentions in the comments how the story ends... he nearly got torn to pieces for giving the ending away! Whaaaat?! If you don't know the end of that story, where the heck have you been?! It's not as if the end was thought out by a producer! Why did they think they chose that dramatic season to do a movie on? Even further off topic - just finished building a 20th scale M23 and made it the Villeneuve ride. (More detailed James Hunt version to follow in the future.) 70's and 80's cars were just sooo much more awesome.
  14. Not a frameset, but sheer coincidence, if it's the right size: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/62544-santa-cruz-bronson/
  15. Don't worry about the time, man... and don't beat yourself up if you do not make your goal. Go and enjoy it! Esp the first time. Take it easy, enjoy the ride, the views and the vibe, stop at water points, talk rubbish to the people around you. This will only be my second - and due to what my legs are telling me, I think I'll have pretty much the same approach. I think of the entrants only... 100 max(?) won't be amateurs.
  16. Tenkie, ons wil seker nie regtig weet wat kos so 'n raampie nie...? Of gaan jy gaaf genoeg wees om 'n aanduiding te gee? Awesome!
  17. My Garmin said 1700-odd last year. But after the last few weeks my body is telling me "too much" - suddenly feeling very undercooked for this one.
  18. Sweat don't evaporate...? Ride faster?
  19. Sou graag wou, maar dis die dag wat ons terugry van K2C-langnaweek...
  20. Apparently now moved out to the 24th, not the 17th...

Just saw now as well. Fun times... Fire and Ice! Will be a strong line-up if they can co-exist. However, I still would have opted for a younger driver. But... most likely they know of something we don't ito contingency.

Yeah, saw that... Was on the cards. Much as I'd love to see Kimi back in red, I would be surprised if that were to happen, though obviously just-about everybody is backing that as "the move". But two older drivers? That will leave them with an entire team reaching the end of their shelf life more or less at the same time (not to many seasons in the future)? Hmmm... I'd go for a Hulk, Di Resta or such.
  24. Hey Ryan, sorry to hear. But if that all did not sort it by now, you're wise not to ride. It is obviously more than a scratchy throat and beginning of some nasties. Take care, heal up, then enjoy more riding after that! We've all got our goals and wishes, but in the end we're not pro's and we do it for fun/relaxation. Not worth compromising long-term health.
  25. That's the spirit! Pity about the move - was hoping to use this as bit of intensity training before next weekend. Now it looks like I'll be training with some red in front of the fireplace...
