  1. K, I'm in G - but don't worry about that, you'll catch me anyways! Smile-and-wave... I'll be the one with the stiff shoulders looking for the smooth lines and wondering why the guys don't point out the holes! They should issue "Roadie alert" stickers for the likes of me to put on the back of my shirt... (Heeey, I should patent that one!) Oh bugger, from Carmichael's post... does this mean G is first batch in 42?! Now there's a laugh. Will filter my way back, anyways...
  2. K, glad to see I'm not the only one... We should make a "roadie grupetto" red lanterns and all - riiight at the back!
  3. Agreed with above sentiments. Of what you have for choices, I'd go for the Scott. If you have time to shop around, like Dale said, check out the CAAD's. (Me Biased?! ) Whatever you get - make sure it's the correct size. Welcome to the suspension-less world... Tank: it's not always dry... and a wet road ride is not so much fun as a wet mtb ride!
  4. Don't say "mud" - I've got a near-slick rear wheel as it is!
  5. So used to doing sport since school. Got injured after years of squash-playing. After six months of doing nothing a friend suggested riding to to something gentle to the knee. Then he stopped shortly after, I sortof also, till I decided stuff this - and got the road bike. No looking back, I just have to get my "fix" - and if I don't get out and ride enough, I get "the look" from the mrs to say just get on your bike... Now the mtb is also there (yeah, call me a dirt roadie) and I just love getting out there and sometimes just chill and enjoy the outdoors, other times see how hard I can go. I've learnt a lot and I keep learning. Daughter is growing up and shortly it'll be huge fun - we already did one (very short) ride together, and she just loves it! Obviously I love to see progress. No, I'm not winning races. No, I'm not A-group. Do I care? No - not my aim. I have my set of goals for this coming season. Some of them are just "participation" - esp on the mtb front. My friends don't ride, so I don't talk cycling to them - life is wider than that. When they ask, I answer, but keep it short. My cycling buddies is a different case, but I have no reason to get into wee-ing contests, because I'll loose most of them anyways!
  6. Looks like something I'll enjoy - and I love those mountains! I'm putting this one on my to-do list. Too early to ride from home on the day (and not fall asleep on the bike during the day ) . And already have some expenses for later that month for K2C. Will keep an eye open for this for next year, though!

    Formula 1...

Only comment I have is something to the tune of "with all that exerience and computing power and strategies to throw at it - when will Ferrari get a final stint on soft tyres right?!" Completely dominant and then they piff it away by pitting too early on the last stop?! Remind me of Barcelona last stint. And Malaysia very nearly went the same way.
  8. Tried it - and didn't like it. Could not get it to taste good. Normal Futurelife works for me! Or Yoghurt and muesli. Or... hey, I'm not all that fussy, just could not get myself to like this.
  9. Jaaa, it's okaaay... but I don't see any "C" logo on it.
  10. Scotty please tell me there's sarcasm hidden in that statement of yours... There's more wholly made up stories in the press than fact.
  11. Never too late! Your old (uploaded) data will be added automatically.
  12. Just got myself one of those Lezynes last week - and privileged enough not have had use for it yet!
  13. Also interested - and wondering what the "input" needs to be. If it takes the HR variance to deduct the power, it still has to have at least an accurate HR max...(?) Because obviously an current HR value, take 185 as example: 185 for me is not 185 for somebody else - for one person it's LT for another it's max. But I love the fact that I can have a different HR strap and now read power values on my Edge (if I understand it correctly). Even if it's somewhat off, it will hopefully be consistently off and you can at least track and work on that.
  14. Or she did - and you now know what "s" is!

I'd love to see Nico there, with Grosjean or Di Resta as other good options. But I'm guessing Perez is in pole position for Massa's seat - and I have mixed feelings about that.
  16. Thanks! Will look into that - maybe also better if she knows she can do a "follow-those-cars" option with the little one.
  17. Okay, real noob question for a change. Recently tubeless converted - now I've gone and sprayed some sealant - but it did it's work in the end... Now what?! Just leave the sealant-patched hole or search for it and plug it? I'd assume the latter...(?)

Agreed, I can't see them together again. There's even wilder rumours of Vettel having signed for them... likewise, I can't see that. For starters he's king of the castle in a very competitive car, with Newey around to improve it year on year. Why move?
  19. I can do some more advanced stuff, but it seems I'm a beginner... Hill starts still get me, just can't get going sometimes. Feel like a tortoise on it's back! (But it's getting better...)
  20. Hey Petatodd, what route does your driver take? Having looked at some options, I'm now also contemplating staying on the other side and having the family drive down to Knysna. But it seems the road will be closed...(?) Not that I know the area, just looking at the maps it seems we'll be riding a section of the R339 that Google suggest she'd take - and the site says route is closed from 6:30. So which way are your guys coming through?

Okay, first off, I agree that he should've waited and he'd have cruuuised past Hamilton. Secondly, I agree that he should have given way on the second part of the corner (which is what the penalty was for). But when Hamilton drove him (he did not run out of track - Lewis drifted out) off the track in the first section of the corner even the biased British commentators said "Advantage Maldonado". To my recollection (which is vague at the best of times) he was ahead both times - when he defended against Kimi and when he was passing Hamilton. (I see Crow posted some footage - will check when I'm home.) Haha, good one! Calling anybody else a hot-head whilst Hamilton is mentioned in the same sentence... The whole thing was avoidable - from both drivers' point of view. But heck, call it "a racing incident" and leave it at that. Why must there be a fine of sorts every time two cars come together?! It's really becoming senseless the last couple of seasons - I mean, the guys are there to race! But then, the moment the try to and something goes wrong in that process, somebody has to be found guilty and punished. That said, the one guy deserving a penalty was Vergne. Talk about a brain-dead move. Oh, completely unmentioned... one guy who'se stock is rising in my books, is Grosjean, after a very dodgy start to the season.

Even though he got a penalty (which I think is ridiculous) for it - good on Maldonado for "standing up" to Hamilton and his stunts. What the heck - you've got your car positioned on the outside with the advantage and then simply get driven off the track?! If that's allowable... But what a drive by Alonso! And great to see the two ex-Ferrari World Champs flanking the future one. And to complete the postcard - all in front of current sponsorship of team! (Though, tbh, I doubt anybody would've caught Vettel had the RB not run out of steam.)
  25. My "problem" is the family - it is therefore best (I'd assume) to stay in Knysna somewhere... Where can I actually find info regarding the shuttle?
