  1. Saw this morning that development is about to start on WKO+ 4.0! So maybe save yourself the expence of getting v3 - unless you can't wait...
  2. Last time I got some at Heidelberg Cycle World at Somerset Mall - but that was a while ago. I saw it somewhere else as well recently, will post if I remember where it was... I am wondering whether or not it was Flandria? Going there this afternoon anyways, so will confirm.

Haha, we can meet at the end of the tarred section - I'll be dropped by then! Hope you feel well/better before Sunday!
  4. Edge 705. Software... guilty as charged! I try everything I lay my hands on! Golden Cheetah and WKO+ 3 (the one on the PC, not trainingpeaks on the web) is most handy for the power gooddies. (GC is for free as well...)

Hey Wannabe, also going for the "well rested" option! For me drinking my meds = having some more red! And I wonder why I'm starting to look like I do?! Maybe we run into each other!
  6. Aaah, denial...?! Cool, just coincidence, thought it was funny seeing the plate and a user with the same name!
  7. I'm with you - can't even get myself on a road bike on an IDT - and here they're positively trying to put a mtb on one?!
  8. Yeah, same boat here, still gathering data and analysing and seeing what gives. But it does give you a whole new way of analysing rides and history (which of course I have only now started building up) and you have access to funky things like training loads, etc. So as I said earlier, even if it is a bit off in comparison to pure solutions such as PT, at least there is something and it is consistent for me. For the moment still riding on HR values more than power to pace myself. I very often glance at the power nowadays just to see how it corresponds and is slowly building up references and confidence. But suspect it may swing the other way once I get onto the road bike and the power delivery should be more predicatable/stable. (And in this lies a second advantage for me - I just have a HR belt to strap on and have power reading on both road and mtb.)
  9. Agreed, go see a physio or a sport massage specialist. Mine was diagnosed as very likely bursitus - in the end it was extreme glute and TFL stiffness from an accident, accomponied by ramping up training. Get it looked at, because with me what drove me there was the ITB that was excruciating - but that was just a result of the above. And you don't want to go there.

Yeah, but my Argus lasted all of 200m, so there goes that theory for me as well. Still 1st K2C, 2nd group?! Must take other road events into account. As a side-note, I did see some of the AMARider things' times being loaded onto Racetec as well (for me 50-Miler and Burger 42) - so maybe they took a greater view of things than Racetec-only. Seeding, the great mystery of bike rides - Who will ever know?! I'll keep left, smile and wave and just go out and enjoy myself! See you all there!
  11. Hey Wannabe, does Vaalkol have a personalised numberplate with the same name? Saw it on the road today and was wondering... or is it somebody else?
  12. For me - there's 5 mm difference in Ergofit setups between my road and MTB. But the difference for me may come in here: I ride (and that's also the advised lengths) 172.5 cranks on road and 175 on mtb. And I use different shoes and cleats: FWIW both Shimano pedals and cleats, but obviously road vs mtb and Spez road and mtb shoes. I'm guessing if you begate these two factors, the saddle height should be the same. Just a note: Ergofit measures seat height not from pedal (due to crank length differences) but from center of BB, along the seat tube.
  13. Heeeey Kranswurn.... we have the exact same carpet! Okay, that was somewhat off topic...
  14. Compact cranks (in my mind) has nothing to do with crank length, but with the amount of teeth in the blades. (Which allows you to spin easier up inclines.) Sniffie, I think best is to get a decent bike fit - I've used Ergofit guys in the past. Or even just a chat to a good bike fitter. This will allow you to understand the science behind the longer and shorter crank arms and the effect it will have - not only on torque, but also knee angles, etc. You may try to address one problem and create a far bigger one.

    Formula 1...

RIP Prof, I am sure you will be missed by many. He saved so many lives, helped so many people and was involved in so much improvements for the sport. It was quite saddening to read about it this morning.
  16. Wonder how that frame exchange process works... But then, mine's still fine - and quite unique! Not many of them around... I must admit, was a bit shocked to see prices on the Flashes. Good grief - for a HT?! Ended up not even looking at the Scalpels.
  17. Yeah well, if you're upping it to the 15k bracket, some of the Zaskar 29ers falls below that as well... seeing that it's a cousin of one of your original options. Just a thought.

Thought you'd be happy with that win. Those bling-bling chrome cars are starting to look dangerous... 3 from 3 now. Though it was circumstances allowing him to do so, mighty impressive drive and result from Perez. Wonder how much closer he is after that showing to the 2nd Ferrari seat?
  19. Unless she's extremely tall, at 7 just get her a 20'' and get her comfortable on that. My 6 y/o daughter was a bit undersized but growing into the 20 just fine. Braking with the small hands are still somewhat less than optimal, but she's getting there. Think "full-sized" bikes might still be too large. Just my 2c - YMMV.
  20. Was just wondering whether it's been mentioned here...
  21. I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous, I'm not.... aaaag, who am I kidding?! Wait-wait, lefty shock, yeah, I can hate that, can't I...? Aaaah bugger, still not working... Many happy miles! Enjoy it on my behalf as well!
  22. Never had that happen to me on any Gatorskins. That said, I have since found Seca to be just as (touch wood!) puncture proof - and muuuch easier on the wallet. At the risk of being given a (virtual) snotklap - you did fit them right way around?!
  23. I think that makes two of us!
  24. Respect to anybody that can get PeptroPro into their bodies. That stuff is horrible. 32GI Recovery or FiT protein something for me - at least it tastes nice! And only when required, not after every ride.
  25. Heck yeah, that's not luring me away from my planned last long training ride before K2C...
