Glorious mud...lovely ride...even the sun came out...can't beat the feeling of a decent bike ride

Welcome to the call of the cycling church...no sun...road slippery after a night's rain...a blissful few hours...and better when you avoid the rain...and the cycling legs enjoying the climbs...and poor surfaces in places...wonderful few rides here

Well the road bike was pumped up...maybe too hard...forgot how many hills we have here but great fun...a lovely loop this morning..

We are driving to a ferry port for a short trip to Ireland....and morning gave us this stunning views...not on a bike...but maybe someday...

Left work today with a small purpose ...an early train...time used for a rare evening hour...great fun...and the evening was showing off...no fancy trails..just a bike ride ..

can't beat the sunshine images on here but an hour before Flanders was ok ...

Pog very humble in the interview....a great performance..MVDP rode very well...just maybe getting caught out at the start and that slipped chain cost him

the bike comes back from a service...a bit of work done...that service which cost £75 plus extras...the bike has a squeak somewhere....that noise of that cable.. ....but it gets worse...the idea that Botranger tyres were deemed better than Maxxis.... again tried to be sold a pair of tyres..

bike in for a service at the moment....quoted bike..."service £75 ( 1500 rand ) then you add the parts...."oh you need new brakes pads...discs...oh then the chain is worn...and then add a cassette ..." but the tyres bit was the final bit..."they are worn ....." yes "....because I use them..." and I am not doing the epic " .... sometimes here in the uk the shops will push too much....the cost would have pushed me over the edge...

its only a Tuesday....what has the rest of the week in store ? 😃

an hour is what you need at times....just an hours ride...makes the difference

Just before taking the bike for a much needed service...a quick spin around the usual area...actually need to find some new routes...very muddy but still good fun and then the sun appears...a bike is a saviour at times...gives you space to do a bit of thinking...

Well the bike was given a ride today...just a gentle amble....nice just to pedal and enjoy bring outdoors...in the rain...in the mud ( alot of it..) it was a bit different than this time last week when the Cape Town Tour was a day away... It was nice to be out on the bike after a difficult week but we continue to ride...

saw phone use yesterday...and earphones...

The tale of today....nice gentle roll out...the wind was there in places but you knew you had to pace yourself....the ride towards the M3...Smooth enough towards Smiths...this is a stunning climbs...go in a bit too deep and the knee pain...yes the knee pain...resolved...but then the riding standards began to wain...the same people..on their phones...cutting up...great bikes...no idea to ride with consideration...the same bikes that were walked up Chaps and were noisy as hell.. it was a bad day for good riding...too many not paying attentions at danger spots...just not aware..maybe people were very tired with the heat...the climbs...Chaps...no voices...no banter...thats what the tour is about? We suffer together......the fun wasn't there this year...oh the heat sapped the fun...then the drag over Suikerbosse...a grind....the e-bikes taking over a few lines...and no water hoses? it was warm The ride towards the finish...great vibe...the legs great....the crazy riders out again....noticed some rider forgot his cycling shoes...all the kit....no shoes... Then mr passing on the right...we tangled...we both held it...but he just didn't care too much...he wasn't bothered... The finish...happy to have done this event... This event cost me plenty to do but it will be hard to bring me back ( I say this always...) ride standards are becoming poorer and in a way more dangerous... today for me the fun wasn't there... I honestly hope everyone enjoyed their day Misty Cliffs had an incident ...and news has reported on this..and I have seen a few too many effects of incidents on this tour at the times I have done it... Sometimes there is more in cycling to do.. Night all But there is mor

Not the easiest day on a bike during my cycling holiday....just couldn't get into a rythmn on the hill work...legs annoying not there...so found myself a tree this evening with a view ...
