Chubba Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Just wondering what everyone is riding. This is my first Argus (first road race) and struggling to make a decision between riding my MTB with slicks or my new (used) road bike that i have had limited time on (have not done more than 40kms on it at one time).
Thor Buttox Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Just wondering what everyone is riding. This is my first Argus (first road race) and struggling to make a decision between riding my MTB with slicks or my new (used) road bike that i have had limited time on (have not done more than 40kms on it at one time).I did the slicks route last time - it's much easier to keep up on a road bike, so your effort is much less. So if you think you can get up the last two hills, the road bike - no doubt! 20 mins faster without trying
Minion Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Dropped my baby off at ORTIA this morning.  She's now got a white saddle and the Zipps are staying at home this year since I'm taking an easy ride.
levett Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 A bike with 'Road Gear' and straight bars - 10-speed Ultegra And this is it!

LeTurbo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I'm still trying to decide: the steel 6-speed or the ti 10-speed?
Chubba Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 quick question (might be a stupid), when are you supposed to grip the lower bars on a road bike?
Prozac Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Scott Cr1 , with my hub sticker .Dropped her off yesterday at CL for transport with Elliot. (Hopefully not burning trucks this year)

Wannabe Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 quick question (might be a stupid), when are you supposed to grip the lower bars on a road bike?Called "being in the drops". And you do it when you are going hell for leather and want to be as aero as possible.
Prozac Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 quick question (might be a stupid), when are you supposed to grip the lower bars on a road bike? When the wind is gooi-ing you around . . .
Chubba Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 How do you feel on your road bike is most important.*** off in the wind, feel more stable on the MTB.
