Rosberg was saying something about ERS and not using the right button or switch to defend.

That would make how many mistakes in a row now? Great drive by Lewis and Ricciardo.

Couldn't say I missed Caterham and Marussia, but it's still sad they're gone and that F1 has failed them.

Raikkonen and Vettel together next year should have Ferrari worried. Although the latest rumors suggest it will be Vettel and Alonso.

That would be a disaster, those two would kill each other. I cant see that happening. Alonso is my favourite driver for sure, its killing me not knowing where he is going next year.

Some records heard on the news

Hamster equals the nr of victories in a season - 10, alongside Vettel and Schumi

Merc 1-2 finish either equalises or breaks record (can't remember now)

Impressive

Dale, I am not impressed with records nowadays.

The 1-2 finish record can be equaled in the next race, I think. From memory, that was most likely the 1988 McLaren record when Prost and Senna klapped those 1-2's (I think 10?). They completed the season with the MP4/4's having won all but one (Italy) race, where Senna was infamously leading and taken out whilst lapping a backmarker. They did that in a season with 16 races, we are heading to race 18 in a 19-races season now. It's not even comparable in my mind, yet everybody gets excited about it. No, I am not a McLaren fan, but I think it's a travesty that such a record must fall in such a way.

Likewise points are just a joke. Now somebody passes some great drivers of the past in points tallies. SFW...? They get 25 points for a single win now! They get points down to 10th place! I mean, a guy ending 5th now gets equal point (10) to what a win was at a stage. For the most part it was 9 points, winning counted for less points than a 5th place now for most of F1 history. In that era, the guy finishing 6th got the last single point, now a 6th place finish gets you more than (as example) finishing second to Senna.

I don't even want to get going about the double-points BS in the last race. But here's a kicker, had a quick check and the 1982 championship was won by a total of 44 points (of course by Goldilocks snr, - not justified in my mind, but that was how it worked out - Pironi missed the last 5 races, about a third of the season, after his crash and still almost won it). That is less than is on play to win this last race.

Sorry, that's my little rant for the day. Current records means very little to me.

Ja I agree on the points - mean nothing ito records anymore.  And that season Rosberg snr won was an interesting one in that, IIRC, he only one a single race.  And there were 11 different winners!  A very different time...

It's sad to see that Jenson is leaving F1  ... maybe Williams had to see this coming and then drop Massa instead?

Let's just hope Mclaren can give Fernando a fast enough car next year. Will be good to see him fighting for the championship with Lewis again.

back to this year.... 2 races to go.... gonna be an exciting ending!

So I have missed the last 2 races, bit of work commitments but mostly couldn't be bothered.

Waiting on team announcements and next years racing, this years has been a bit bland......

That being said I do think SHamilton will take the title barring something spectacular happening.

Pity about Jenson, he reminds me of Hayden in MotoGP, really good on his day but they are few and far between.

Very quiet race, not really entertaining. Seems like its very hard to pass on this race track with a F1 car, almost like a bullet train trying to pass a metrorail on the same track.

Lewis was quicker for sure, Nico kept it together. All to play for in Abu Dhabi, going to be interesting title decider. Abu Dhabi is another track where overtaking is impossible.

What a miserable SOB on the podium though. No guessing to why he is the driver most people love to hate. Still busy and he just walks off!!!

I think he really didn't have anything left to spare, Rosberg had it in the bag.

Lewis blew it when he spun off, if not that he would probably have won the race.

pretty sure he would of won with out the spin (he made up 5 seconds ) but surely he didn't have to do the extra lap and had already made up enough time to come out ahead of rosberg.

Like I say, he would've won.

But Rosberg made less mistakes this time.

Vettel's little manouvre around Bottas and Raikonnen also stood out as good racing.
