I'm in Cape Town from Thurday to Saturday this week & and having never riden down there I need some local advice on which rides to do. Technical ,knarley singletrack is what I'm looking for so the rougher the better.

...helderberg - contact Cycle Addiction in Somerset West.

Where exactly in the Helderberg bud?

I am always looking for mtb spots around here, I want to get on my bike from home and not drive to Grabouw, Lebanon, Stellenbosch or wherever.

And no I am not contacting any cycling shop, I wanna ride when I want for as long as I want.

Lebanon has some nice technical single track. Still some of the best riding around, and they've added some new bits recently.

Yeah they were doing maintenance there for the epic last week, twice on fast downhills followed by blind corners they decided to leave freaking tree's on the trail. Nearly killed myself twice.

Some sections also very sandy at the moment but it did make for some fun moments at speed :D

As far as I know there's a locked gate and you can get a key from one of the bike shops in Somerset West. You have to sign an indemnity and pay for the key. That's probably what he meant, in which case Cycle Addiction would be the shop to get the key from.

I've ridden there once but it was a nightride and I don't know the area so I couldn't explain where it was. I just know we started on Silwerboomkloof Road and came out of a locked gate further east.
