It was quite intriguing going through your photostream on Flickr seeing the processed and unprocessed (hope that's the right term) images and just how much they differ.

The thing with taking images in raw, they all need processing.

Shooting in JPEG as most people do ,you don't have much of a choice.

Raw allows one to become creative, especially when you create layers for single image HDR.

Add to that deterioration on jpg's over time... and not being able to fine-tune your jpg to begin with.

But... interesting to see the differences in jpg export/convertion between different software - and even different levels of the same software. It's not as if the interpret the RAW exactly the same! You'd have thought...

But agreed - I shoot in RAW. Period. (Yes, even sport shots!)

I think DSLR does a fine job. I just happen to like printing big and the commercial work justifies the cost of the hardware.

I also have a fondness for view cameras and frequently mount the DB on a Cambo monorail camera. More cumbersome than a 29er but I like the workflow and slowness that it induces.

I'd like to get myself a phase one or Hasselblad one day, but we will see.

Right now they are priced just a little out of my budget.

I have a good mate who gets paid really top dollar for his work, he is constantly busy and very well know as a fashion photographer, he reckon those cameras are not really economically that viable, he rents them if need be.
