Does any one recommend a good bike fitter with experience in fitting triathlon bikes (a technical one, not the classic "by eye" fitter), in Joburg or Pretoria? Best regards,

Carlos

Go see Mike at SBR Sports in Sunninghill Village,he uses proper technology. He did my setup one week before IMBC and I was very worried that I made the classic error, but from the moment I got on the bike I felt comfortable. Call him Tel # 0110242969

What counts as proper technology? Does he also to road bike fitting? I'm still not happy with my fit, so I'm interested in giving him a look.

Try the new CYCLELAB in Lynwood ......sure they will be able to help you pronto.

What I mean by technology is the software that uses the images/clip taken by camera then transferred to the software program to measure angles etc correctly. The only pleace that he used the machanical means was the old knee over the spindle with the plum line.

@thug not sure what he charges....I had my 3 bikes done for R1100 approx if I can recall

@sungun I had my initial setup done at Troisport and it was done by sight.....was not very happy.

Hi guys, thanks for all the answers. In particular, Wheelsuck, thanks for the very precise recommendation. I thinks that's exactly what I need. I'll call Mike. Best

The Bike Basement has a RETUL fitter I believe. Never used it but I understand RETUL is the most technologically advanced method.

Personally, Kyalami race track is excellent for self bike setup. Repeatable laps allows you to find the right position. You have to understand what you are feeling back from your bike.

Bike fitting is about the person, not the "technology".

To the best of my knowledge there is only one organisation that specialises in bike fitting as their core business, not as adjunct to a bike selling shop.

Go and see the REAL specialists.

they have the people, expertise, experience and technology to get it right.

Just to add, you have to go to the USA for training to be a licenced RETUL fitter. So some skills can be inferred.
