Dude, I can show you top athletes that eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches when they compete and they will tell you it gives them a kick. Show us the science!

or google search for isomaltulose (trade name Palatinose)

Spoke to wolffm/ Mark today - he is trying to get hold of the full research paper for anyone interested. The abstract sounds very vague (the info he's already given).

Mark has given more nutritional information on this site than any other person so far ....... for free....... so what if he makes a couple of sales through this thread! seriously guys come on if you dont like what you hear dont buy the product its as simple as that! like Mampara said they have a money back gaurentee so what is there to loose? Reynard Tissink has won several Ironman races using GU energy gels does this mean that GU is the reason for winning the races? it comes down to different stokes for different folks! dont knock a product if you havent tried it. some people prefer Wasp gels to GU gels but Gu gels have to be better than WASP because Reynard won the Ironman using Gu RIGHT? see where this is going? try different product till you find the one that works for you! as simple as that

Why the big hoo-haa? I've never seen this go on for any USN, Cyto, Biogen or Energade. Who says they are any good? Try the product and if it does not work, move on.

Wow,give the poor man a chance,he has gone beyond the call of duty in trying to answer all questions posed ! Are we now expecting all other products to do the same ?

As several hubbers have also said, try it and if it works for you, then great, use it.If not then try something else that does.

Personally I bought two flavours at the Ironman expo and used it on a 75 km ride on Tuesday and didn't really find any difference.I will try it again over the weekend on a longer ride. The flavours are good.

Agreed - Me thinks some people are trying to show how "clever" they are......trying being the operative word.  For those of you - if the shoe fits......stick it in your mouth.....

If you have issues with the product - pm the guy - get facts, and if your evidence is in contravention of certain claims, then provide the evidence.  But, stop trying to show how "clever" you are......

I have come to the conclusion that The Hub has a lot of big-mouths lthat like to hide behind a pseudenom (spelling??) and slag others.......not for me - I'm out of here..........cheers

Agree 110% with this, was actually surprised no one brought this fact up earlier.

I for one have never asked for any scientific proof before I use a product and I am sure that there are many that use products without getting a scientific report on the product. Just because this guy is bringing something new to the market, now everybody moans and complains, because it might be better than their own prefered drink.

I use and swear by Hammer, but will give this a try as I try to stick to stuff that is as close to natural as possible. I for one have not read any scientific report on for example USN (or many others) products, but personally do not like the products, so I dont use it. Simple as that.

wolff,

Thanx for all the info.

Will test this product as soon as I finish my last tubs of USN Stamina Booster and, my 1st, tub of Hammer Recovery. By then, it should be widely available in Cape Town.

Now to get my pre-training meal right.

Low GI, low GI, .... tough for a sugar, chocolate and sweets loving man!  smiley17.gif Geno2010-04-30 12:11:44

As far as I know Kosher and Halaal forbid certain animals from being consumed and the poor creature has to be killed in some gruesome manner. I am not sure that either of those forbid animal products or derivatives to be used in food. As a vegetarian I avoid animal products. So my question is, is the product suitable for vegans and vegetarians not followers of either Judaism or Islam.

I would not be surprised if some sugarcane fields were slaughtered to break down the sugar into the carbohydrate contained within the product. Terrible, but what can we do? Just mix it and drink it!
